I will measure up my current set up. Bullmoose have 125mm stem length shall see if it matches. It's a real lottery buying bars. Come to the conclusion that I got the bars wrong on my Batavus: Nitto Noodles when I should have gone more compact. But it took me to working that out after I shortened the stem so had to rewrap one side of the bars. I could have done it at the time but now am loathe to buy more bartape and do it again.

What are the hive mind's feeling on Bull Moose bars? Thinking about putting them on my Surly once I have switched to 650b s. Debating with model will suit me best, would like to test them out.
Also considering this:

Thought it might give the Surly a classic path racer look/feel

So pleased for Mollema, judged it so well. As usual at the end of a long race the chasing pack were all wary of putting in too much effort. Roglic said it best: when two dogs argue over a bone the third dog is the one that walks away with it.
I also enjoyed Paris-Tours on Sunday. That race needs to be somewhere else on the calendar.

The Razesa has ground to a halt as the both the chap doing to the custom decals and the other chap with the NOS Campy rims have gone quiet so all the momentum has gone out of it.
That said it is a bit of a vanity project so happy to kick it down the road until the spring.
So in other news I spent an eye-watering amount on a custom fork from Orlowski. Suddenly as the weather has turned getting the Steamroller sorted seems to be the biggest priority. My plan has always been to put a disc brake up front to the point I have both a Straggler fork unfitted and a cheap disc front wheel. However I didn't want to change the geo so I sacked it off. Now selling the Straggler and my mate at Temple Bikes is trying to get me a 650b wheelset set built for it at trade. I am thinking tubeless 47mm Gravelkings or Byways.
And I always hated the colour so also considering a powder coat in red or orange again.
5-6 weeks for the fork, am excite.

If anyone does want an Omnium CXC fork they have sent me a link:
https://omniumcargo.dk/shop/product/cxc-tight-clearance-fork/
I reckon that is a serious bargain. Would be interested to see what they look like on a Roller

Not unfortunately, it looks like a nice bit a kit but I went with Orlowski and currently wincing at what I have just paid. Will sack off the expensive winter coat in lieu.
I have an unfitted 700c Straggler fork and will have a Steamroller fork available for cheaps when the custom one arrives if either are required.

I've gone the custom route, the exchange rate is so fucking bad, thank you Tories. Currently suffering from buyer's guilt.
But I will be getting an Orlowski fork so that is a win. Doubt there are many Steamrollers out there with one. I have the piss-coloured Steamroller so thinking of getting it powder-coated something better when I get the fork. Orange probably.

Getting a disc fork for my Steamroller and going down the 650b, fat tyres route.
Orlowski have quoted me 182 euros inc shipping for replica fork with IS mounts in Reynolds steel.
I have emailed Omnium about their CXC forks which have the same rake but are 5mm shorter and they do them in matt black, vivid blue or green and ask 649 dkk for them, which google says is just £78, with shipping on top.
So custom built replica forks or ones a fraction shorter but for half the price. Hive mind aid me.

Yeah although I am debating when 5mm of height and 6mm of rake difference is going to affect the feel that much if I am changing the wheelset.
Orlowski are 160 euros and will be Reynolds, so about £145 plus shipping, while Triton are doing the Straggler for £117 plus postage. It would be nice to have an Orlowski fork and it should be better and lighter.

Still love my Softshell though, but only gets a few outings a year when it's cold enough.
The Softshell is such a great, iconic jacket. I hope at some point Rapha do a re-issue, would love to have a spanky new one.
I am leaning away from Rapha, don't seem to have the jecket that fits my requirements and don't want to spend the money in that case.
I was considering moustache bars but I have never ridden them before so no idea if I will like them or not. I like the idea of those English dropbars, compact with narrow flat and splayed drops. I also wouldn't be having hood brakes: single hydraulic brake at the front. Apparently non-brifter hydraulic hood levers exist but it seems costly to only use one and have the other as a dead brake (but with extra hand positions).
