Wheels are built, picking them up on Saturday. Deciding on tyres and mudguards atm, can you fit 47s with muguards? I remember reading somewhere the max is 45mms.
Also Orlowski has messaged me that he has all the materials for the fork and will be building it this week and shipping it Sunday so it looks like it will finally all coming together. Can't wait.
-
Heard from the shop: my 650b wheels are finished. Still waiting on the fork from Orlowski, they said 5-6 weeks and the order was placed mid-October. So to tyres: I have been running Gravelkings and you can get 650s in 45s, or I was looking at Byways in 47mm, but I seem to remember I read somewhere if you are going to run mudguards max tyre size is 45, anyone advise?
Also to that end, advice on mudguards? Velo Orange seem to be the best option.

it rained all night and was still this morning, so was a miserable commute in, compounded by the cnut who, because he was stuck behind me on a 200 yard narrow road with parked cars either side, seemed to think he has the right to honk repeatedly at me and try to force me across by trying to squeeze past me.
I did not budge and gave him the finger and some choice words considering the conditions. Utter wanker.

Had a fast, close pass last night, then the car started indicating right. There was oncoming cars so the driver had to stop and wait, leaving me with a narrow gap to squeeze through. So I gave the car a whack as I went through.
Then a white van came pass me with inches to spare this morning. Then immediately slowed so I went past him again, as he pulled over to the other side of the road. Gave the van a whack again and felt like confronting the driver but had to get a train. Made me wonder if he had even seen me as the sun was bright and low and he presumably was looking for a spot to park on the other side of the road. Which is actually more frightening than him just being a cunt driver.
If there is one thing that really boils my piss it is unnecessary overtaking: about to pull over, about to turn right or left, about to join a queue of traffic or there is a red light ahead? Then fucking wait behind the cyclist for a few seconds, its not fucking hard.

Yeah the Razesa build proved frustrating as I was waiting on decals and rims so it have been kicked down the road for a while, probably look to complete it for the spring.
The Steamroller continues. I bought some cheap rims off Planet X, Pacenti 28h for the front and some WTB 32h for the rear. Briefly considered cannabalising existing wheelset but settled on this double-fixed Novatec for the rear and this front Novatec disc hub.
Going to get the wheels built up by local wheelbuilders and planing on using WTB 47mm Byways. To start with I will just lacquer the Orlowski fork and maybe after the winter get the whole thing resprayed. Still on the outlook for a Chris King headset for it.

Cheers, only just getting started!.
Just picked up a pair of 650b Pacenti rims, thinking of cannibalising the rear Surly (what is the best way to take apart a wheel?) but need a front hub, thinking Novatec D791SB like these however I am out of the loop when it comes to modern MTB kit: it doesn't come with a axle, I would like track bolt-style axle for it, not QR, what should I be buying for it?
I also noticed corrosion on the Crane Creek headset so I may bling it up with a Chris King is anyone has one for sellz.
