Hi Tim,
You'd have to factor in horizontal track dropouts and 120mm rear wheel spacing. I'm not sure how much of an issue this is, but suspect it would be a hassle to convert it to gears. Most people on here are busy converting bikes the other way around - from geared to single. Bear in mind the Capo has a freewheel so if you're nervous about the idea of a fixed gear then you don't need to be. It coasts. And then if you want to try fixed you can put a fixed cog on the other side of the wheel and flip it round.

I bought the exact same bike as standard spec, 2008 model off ebay for £280 including purchase docs from evans...
That said i felt i got a bargain, and bike is actualy quite good, but still prefer a steel frame build....
I didn't know anyone on here liked steel? What is this? The 1980s?
I love the anti-hipster stance of the Cannondale. Get some lycra and a bottle holder and you could be on a road bike. Or ride it on the pavement in a hoodie whilst making a phone call and smoking bensons and you could be a crack dealer. The possibilities are endless...

Cannondale Capo 2008 56cm *Black*
This bike seems cursed to never be ridden! I bought it as an impulse buy on eBay from a guy who hadn't ridden it at all. My plan was to strip it back to the lovely Black CAAD 5 frame and rebuild it with better components. I've had no resources to commit to it so I'm going to pass it on to someone else or else it will lie around gathering dust for another year… As such, it is as new, with the small exception of a tiny scratch at the bottom of the frame (I grazed it up against a table moving it). Look closely beneath the Cannondale logo to see it.
It is unmodified, standard spec, and essentially unridden. Comes with all the original manuals / Evans paperwork etc.
If you haven't tried a Capo before, they are amazingly light and comfortable for a track style bike. And the frame is a stunner - the welds are super smooth. It comes up big for a 56 - I'm 5'10 and it is a real stretch for me. Hence the short stem in the pic. I'll put the original stem back if you prefer.
All stock components, no pedals, but I can throw in some shimano SPD pedals if required, and also have a few other things lying around if you need them (Miche fixed cog, straight bars etc).
They were £799 new, with the current straight bar version at £699. I paid £499 on eBay for it, so I'll let it go for:
£450
Buyers are welcome to come over and see it at my place in Old Kent Rd. As usual, no dibs, pm for more details etc.

Fuji Track 2008 56cm
I have far too many bikes, and just bought another one, so my mint '08 Fuji track is up for grabs.
As follows:
Fuji Track 2008. 56cm. Bought new in late 2008 from Edwardes (will include paperwork). Standard spec with a few useful extras thrown in:
- ACS claws 18t freewheel (used once - I didn't like it!)
- Surly 20t cog (worked well when my knees were playing up)
- KMC chain
- Goldfinger Lever with generic black calliper
- 2 sets of pedals (black Wellgo RX-1 clones which are surprisingly nice and smooth, and some older Shimano PD-A520 SPDs I have no use for)
I'll throw in the original cog (15t) and matching chain as well (used only a couple of times).
Overall condition is close to perfect, a few tiny marks if you look really close, but essentially mint. The tyres still look new, the wheels are true and shiny etc.
**Price: SOLD **
As a sizing guide, the Fuji is fine for me at 5"9 , but could easily accommodate a taller rider. Depending on your riding style, it should fit people 5'8 to 6'0. My inseam is 31.5. Seat is up at correct height for me.
The price is firm, so no offers at the moment. I'm not looking to split anything, but I am happy to knock** £40 off** if you have your own rear wheel (I can use this one on another project). Happy for people to view the bike at my studio near Elephant and Castle / Old Kent Rd.
- ACS claws 18t freewheel (used once - I didn't like it!)

I use a Subway 1 as my pub bike - picked it up on eBay. It is a great little bike - light and agile, and I've had no problem at all with the parts - pretty much the same spec you'd get on any entry level mountain bike up to £400. I wouldn't bother buying a new one though. Just get one for £50 on eBay and convert it to singlespeed if you want. Tape it up and it could be a Cannondale Bad Boy, which will mean people will think you're a cnut and thieves will steal it at the first opportunity.

A complete trivial aside, but you can blame the HGVs on Thatcher. Olympics aside, the reason HGVs are so common on our roads is because she broke up the unions and British Rail (which previously dominated the heavy goods transit business with overnight freight trains). Not many of us get run over by trains in London.

I have lots of front wheels, but now my rear one is dying...
So, looking for a decent rear track wheel with flip/flop hub. 120mm spacing. Preferably very good/mint condition. Happy with something like Miche/Gran Compe/Goldtec or similar spec laced up to a decent clincher rim.
I've been watching eBay but nothing much has come up, so on the off chance that someone has one lying around...

I remember doing my motorbike training (the direct access full licence thing) years ago and the instructor screamed at me over his intercom if I ever got near the left hand side of the road. As such I never go near cyclists unless I'm one myself.
The problem is, many (if not most) scooter / moped riders in London have just done a CBT. Which is roughly 1 hour of on road training...

I could do £80 for cranks + chainring. I'm London based, and have the cash :)
