just to be clear - i have no experience of that particular t-amp - there are hundreds of similar ones out there, but they tend to be very good when paired with the correct speakers (sensitive ones)
db/W/m is a measure of how loud a speaker is for a given amount of power - ie the number of decibels for 1W of power at 1m away. Sensitive speakers are generally considered those with a value over 90 and need far fewer watts of amp power to play them at the same volume as those with a lower sensitivity.

Get this or this
And these or these or these or these
And some solid speaker stands
Spend fifty quid or so on interconnects and speaker cables
Clean up all speaker and phono plugs and with emery cloth (ususally more important than cable IME)Kick back, enjoy and spend the rest on music, food and booze with your mates
The Tannoys and the NAD are the best bet out of that lot IMO (never really got on with those Cambridge Audio amps - always sounded a bit turgid to me)
Another AMP option would be a Class T / switching amp with a USB dac - something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOPPING-TP32-TA2024B-T-AMP-2X15W-Tripath-Class-head-AMP-USB-DAC-siver-face-/170704096680#ht_9053wt_802
This will require suitably sensitive speakers - >90db/W/m but will enable high quality audio from your PC without the need for an expensive soundcard (provided you use FLAC or some other player that supports proper kernel streaming or WASAPI)
The Tannoys are 92db/W/m so would be fine

I'm thinking about getting a decent sound system after only having used PC speakers.
I know nothing about this kind of stuff, but i think i'd like something pretty decent that i'd keep for a while.
I'd want something which i could connect my ipod to and also to my pc but also , but then i suppose i'd need a decent sound card on the pc for any effect?
As you can probably tell i know fuck all, and am not an audiophile, but i think it's time for an upgradeSuppose the most important bit is budget, bout £500 i'd spend.
Any point in the right dirrection would be nice:)How big is your room?
For 500 you should be able to get a very good s/h system

My father has wanted a Legacy for ages, but I don't think it'll fit in their garage.
Haha - they are awesome but make Oliver Reed look like a teetotaler....
Boxer engines not known for their fuel efficiency + couple that with 4wd losses....Having said that I absolutely love my Spec B and its 3ltr flat six, so I put up with the fact I get about 22mpg average.

No - they are not allowed to write it off if you don't accept there offer.
You don't have to accept their valuation as the twat's insurance has no legal contact with your parents insurance.Ah good guide here: http://www.uklegacy.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=108898
