Ballbearings are no issue. Just go into CCC and show them one of the bearings, they can measure it and then sell you some new ones. They are normally a matter of pence. I have a tool for measuring ball bearing sizes also if you need.

It's perfectly feasible. Steve was commuting back and forth by bike from Lem to Cov and even I've done it - and I am lazy.
