The best way to check for crack is to have them on the bike and step on them hard whilst someone else inspects. Harder than it sounds though.

Here' some filed one's. The idea is to stop the crack from growing and it's been suggested that if you intend to use them then it's a good idea to file them anyway just as a precaution.

Somewhere in the shed I have one of those large collapsable cages for keeping dogs contained.

It's several pieces of wire cage flat packed in 1m x 1m sections. You can have for free if you collect.

I just realised they also sent me DT-Swiss rims other than the DP18 that were bundled which was a free upgrade so more bonus.

The only thing I don't like is the integrated saddle/seatpost thing. The rest stays. I'll get some pics sorted.

Without pedals they would be struggling! They factor in 10 days for build.

I am pleased to say my bike arrived from Planet-X/on-one and to my surprise it is fully assembled. Which is a bonus as I didn't pay for it to be assembled. It also explains why it was a much slower delivery. So credit where it's due for that.

I was tempted insert some vulgarity about reaming but I am above that I guess.

Just get a bike shop to do it. The place I go in Daventry installs a headset for £7.50 last time I had one done.

My wheels built by Kev are still true after a year of riding so that's a thumbs up from me.

The downside to CCC is that they only have a limited stock of spokes so either you have to pay by the bucket load when they order you some or they will let you order your own and bring them in.

I don't know anyone else locally.

Well you can borrow my industrial strength chain whip - again - if you want but I am slightly busy at the moment and probably can't get into town til next week some time.

Well it didn't ship yesterday and no change on the status yet today. Their response was loaded anyway, it was half wrong the second they sent it.

Nice but clearly something very hard to find because after several days of wandering round the warehouse with the pick ticket the warehouse operative still hasn't found the one I ordered or shipped it.

I love the answer I got back from them. It will ship "today or tomorrow".
