Cheers all for the recommendations.
It seemed strange to me that headteacher have gone this replaceable battery route when bike lights are generally just a big built in battery but I goes a lot of it is for weight, better to carry a lot of the weight of the battery in a pocket/pack than on your head.

Yeah, I bought a lightbox off ebay.
I tried a new fancy led one but it had like a patterned surface which I think was for aligning things to trace and that pattern showed up on the images so then I bought an old Jessops one.
When I was using the 5D I was finiding it more stable shooting pretty much horizontally so had the light box propped up and stuff but now I'm using my enlarger as a copy stand and shooting vertically.
I'll see if I can find some photos of my set up.

You could set up a tripod such that the print fills the frame. Mark out on some sort of base board so that positioning the print is easily repeatable.
You can get copy stands pretty cheap but they do look a bit flimsy.
For doing negs I’m actually getting the best results from my little rx100 compact camera, it’s able to focus a lot closer than even the pucker macro lens I have for my 5d.

Head torches seem to be popular with runners so figure this might be the place to ask for a recommendation a usb rechargeable one.
Lots of them, Petzl and Black Diamond in particular appear to be ‘dual fuel’ where they can run off double or triple As or a rechargeable battery which you have to buy separately, I just want a built in rechargeable battery…unless there’s a particular reason to not do this?
Edit: It’s really for seeing while camping/out doing photography at night etc that I want it so don’t think it needs to be particularly bright, red light option would be good.

Haha, big two foot long thing!
I do have previous experience of putting extensions onto shifters…https://www.lfgss.com/comments/16707544/

Was a bit disappointed with a couple of things about the shifter, the boss that the shifter sits on is quite loose in the mount which gives the shifter a feeling of having a lot of backlash when it’s off the bike but thankfully once it’s fitted and the adjuster is cranked down to the correct tension that feeling goes away.
The other thing was that the groove in the casting where the cable sits was pretty rough and ragged. It didn’t take much filing to clean it up though.

Ene thumby arrived today so fit that to the Spa and played about with the bar/stem trying to find something that worked better for my hand. Settled on a bmx stem and two piece riser that I made a while back for my klunker. Set it down a bit lower on the steerer so might trim that up if I get on with it.

I managed to ride a bike properly (not just on the rollers) yesterday for the first time in over 6 weeks.
Tried the Spa first. I thouight I'd be totally unable to use the shifter (and have ordered a Dia Compe ENE thumby as I think that despite it's name, it'll be easier for me to use) but I was actually able to use the rapid fire shifter currently fitted. The most comfortable place for my thumb to sit though is also where the shift levers are so the thumby will be useful after all*. The way my hand sits on the bar/grip also seems to cause bumps and shocks to be a bit painful on my thumb.
*I also wanted it to get away from being tied in to Shimano Linkglide stuff.
I then took out the lugged singlespeed and the much more swept back bars are so much more comfortable for my thumb so looks like I'll be mainly riding it for just now.
Going back to work on Saturday and hopefully can commute by bicycle most of the time/straight away.

How long is it safe to leave a sealed in wax cheese out of the fridge?
Was at a farm shop on Friday (22/11) and bought my parents some Christmas presents, locally made oatcakes, pickles and a cheese in wax (dated well into next year). Got home and forgot about the cheese until today (25/11). Have put it in the fridge now but is it likely to make them ill if I give them it in a month’s time?

The spring adjusters on my Paul cantis corroded disappointingly quickly and I really wasn’t up for paying £30 for new ones which I was sure would just do the same again.
I was also needing a set of pads for them and came across the Dia Compe Fiesta pack for their bmx brakes. Funky green pads and spring adjusters for the grand total of £11 per brake.
I wasn’t sure the sorting adjusters would work and when they turned up they are missing a little projection from the underside that’s on the Paul ones but a v brake washer fits there perfectly.
There’s a fancy ti version of the fiesta pack if you really wanted to push the boat out.

Said I'd take some photos of the black belts at a mates karate club and then kinda shit myself as I realised taking photos of people up close and personal is well outside my comfort zone and then again when I realised we (Mrs M_V and I share the DSLR kit) don't have anything wider than a 50mm for the 5D.
These are actyually from my RX100 which I stuck in my bag 'just incase' but ended up using to get some images with movement in.
Shot some film as well so will post them in the relevant thread once I get it devved and digitised.
We ain't done yet!
