Unlocking my bike outside the The George and Dragon on Crackney Rd last night I met a chap with a fixie wheeler bicycle with a 650 aerospoke on the front. I can't remember exactly how we started but it transpired that the gentleman in question had the aforementioned wheel signed by non other than singer Ian Brown. For some reason an argument ensued which culminated in this gent slagging of my (humble) Surly Steamroller. I think i remember getting a little cheesed off and telling him that I thought his front wheel was a pile of crap especially as it was signed by Ian Brown.
Pointless thread you may think???? Not so!
I'd like to take the opportunity to apologise to Mr Ian Brown signed 650 aerospoke. No hard feelings sir. Like i say i can't remember why we even started talking, let alone why i made such ridiculous comments.... I do however have to say that my steamroller is not shit. It's a perfectly decent winter ride and great for absorbing the bumps and cracks that Londons roads are full of. -

Spotted.... Me RLJ'ing by one of the City Of London's famous Londons Bobbys... Heading south on Gracechurch Street.... Fuck all traffic so jumped the lights and out he popped from behind a pillar... He was very pleasant... told me that people had been complaining about cyclists jumping the lights at the junction which is why he was there.... Also let me know that nice polite cyclists who accept their bollockings and apologise don't get fined..... Arsey ones do....... Watch it, they are hiding....

Wish I could go Cornwall this weekend... Was in Devon the beginning of September.. Good breaks at Westward Ho and Puttsborough.. If anyone feels like it again before it gets proper freezing I'm in....
Also looking at doing a long weekend yacht Charter at some point. If anyone has a dayskipper qualification that would come in handy... I can crew as can a few other I know -
