When I lived in Surrey I went to London HXC shows quite a bit. Now I'm in Oxfordshire there isn't much happening locally. I went to a half-dayer in Nottingham last year that was fun. I've been getting into old screamo stuff lately (or "skramz" as the kids bizarrely call it nowadays??), Saetia, The Spirit of Versailles, In Loving Memory etc

I stopped riding in about October, the dark and constant rain just didn't make me feel like riding after work. Took my summer bike apart and started collecting bits to build a winter bike to encourage me to get out there again, it never happened. I finally got a bike built this week and turned up at my usual club ride, "Mellow" pace was cancelled because not enough people turn up in winter so I went with the Mediums, struggled, realised how unfit I've got and decided to peel off and head home after less than 10 miles.
I suck! I'm now back at home feeling sorry for myself. -
Had a great time a couple of weekends ago helping with volunteer maintenance on the old Leeds Mountaineering Club hut in Snowdonia. It's being renovated by the Mountain Bothies Association and although currently locked whilst work is being carried out, will hopefully be open to the public later this year.

I got the parts all swapped over today, nothing like a rainy day to motivate you to finish those projects off. I just need to get the brakes and gears all set up now, front wheel was wobbling alot so that's been sorted. My first attempt at wrapping bar tape didn't go too badly, it came without adhesive so I'd used some hardcore 3M double sided tape from work, it was a bit of a nightmare to work with as it likes sticking to itself/my fingers before it sticks to anything else but I got there in the end.
Lesson learned: Get all your cables set up before bar taping over them, I had to unwind one side a bit to give me enough front brake cable.
Pics should appear below.

My bad jokes are wasted in here ;-)
Here's the Steve Goff which will have new wheels & groupset and become my summer bike. Most of the bits for building the orange rat will come off this and are mostly Sora and Bontrager off a Trek that I bought off a friend and pulled apart to put on the Steve. Time to start taking this one apart and put them on a 3rd bike. -

I like the old Bontrager saddle on my beater but would really like something similar with a groove/hole down the middle. Can anyone recommend a cheapo one please?
