what do you think would be a good price to get a fixed gear entry level?
The bianchi price is ok I think, but the photos is not the real one, it's a photo from the catalogue so i'd ask to see the bike first.
Theres a thread here about size including a calcualtor to work it out so i'd use that http://www.londonfgss.com/thread20769.htmlAs for your first question:
It depends what you want. If you're after a off the peg bike you can spend anything from about £200 to thousands depending on what you want and how rich you are. It's always fun to build your own from scratch as you get to know alot about bike mechanics and will be able to fix it yourself if it ever goes wrong. Plus you can then choose colour and style to match whatever you want, and it often works out alot cheaper. There's a mechanics and fixing section on this forum and i'm sure someone on here will be able to help you out with advice whenever you need it (though be prepared for some sarcastic comments, just ignore them). Or you could just by an OTP (off the peg) and upgrade it as and when you want. If you wait around the classifieds section on here has some AMAZING deals, but it's entirely up to you. The search function on this forum is also incredibly helpful and there is a large thread of a list of OTP bikes and prices with the discussion of pros and cons on most of themhere http://www.londonfgss.com/thread9085-6.html
Just ask any questions you have by starting a new thread or putting a new post in a related thread. Just make sure you've searched to see if the question has already been answered in another thread.
Hope this helps

I've got a pair of the cheap doubles from on one which were like £20 pair including postage which have been fine so far but you pretty much get what you pay for. The leather's shit quality but at least they haven't slipped yet (touch wood), I guess they're just a bit better than singles. I'd spend the extra and go with the odges. Infact could anyone buy some and post them to me if I paypal them £35? In black if possible. PM me if you can. thanks

They're fantastic and I believe they do come in different sizes as I know they're on some mountain bikes. The only problem I can see for race bikes if that you have no forward or backward adjustment, so if that's a problem for you don't get one. On the plus side they're incredibly light and strong and look pretty neat (i think). As for the security issue, it's actually easier to get the seat off the seatpost (just needs a 6mm allen key) but maybe thieves might not bother as it wont fit any other seatposts or maybe they might not be able to work out where the bolt is (through the top of the seat) I have one on my bmx and have never ever had any problem, it's a perfect design, but maybe not for race bikes.

Come on, there's no need to say that. If you think he's being unreasonable then maybe send him a PM but no need to call him out in this thread. It's a very nice selection of stuff and the prices are reasonable so I don't think there's really a need to call him out.
