I wear el cheapo casios day to day.
I've got a small number of US military issue Hamiltons, Marathons and a Stocker & Yale which I'd like to add to, funds permitting.
Nice collection here: http://www.50717.com/

I'm fucking livid. I've just ponied up 90p for a 'quality' newspaper and there's not a fucking mention of this Jade Goody lady who everyone's banging on about. Just a load of guff about the economy and some place called Zimbabwe. Fucking shit media!
How the fuck am I supposed to get up to speed on these weighty, vital issues? Is she on Twitter or what?
Give yourselves a break, give the girl a break.

I've got a Puch Maxi in bits in the shed, another aborted project. I love what is being done with the humble moped in Europe and the US.
The sports moped scene over here has gone bonkers as middle-aged men in the throes of a mid-life crisis drop 5 grand on pristine Fizzies and SS50s.
Check out www.mopedarmy.com for the craziness that the Yankees are doing on/with their 'peds. Alot of similarities to the fixed wheel 'scene' in terms of attitude, fashion, dare I say 'demographic'.

It's always an arse to see your 'scene' commercialised like this. If you don't want to make the same mistake over and over I have a couple of suggestions for choosing your next big thing:
Is your 'scene' underground? Has it ever been? If it has, how the hell did you find out about it? If you first read about it in the 'culture' section of the Guardian, leave well alone.
Does it have close ties to inner-city life? In particular, does it have origins in a profession who interract daily with the media/ad agency/blah industry? If so, leave well alone.
Fixed wheel cycling is the the fucking 'Zeitgeist'. If you are in it for the long haul, don't worry about Duffy.

what did you expect him to do, smash his way out?
Who, The chimpanzee? Well I guess I didn't expect him to do anything in particular. If he'd have just jumped out of a window or punched the fucking door off its hinges it would have barely registered in my feeble mind.
Perhaps my notion of normal primate behaviour needs a good tweak.
