Here we have a Simoncini track frame built with Columbus Cromor with two sets of forks: the original undrilled fork and a chrome fork suitable for use with a modern recessed brake.
Top Tube (C-C): 52cm
Seat Tube (C-C): 51cm
Seat Tube (C-T): 52cmSome blemishes and marks to the finish. Chrome fork has some very mild pitting. One set of decals has partly peeled off and another is peeling. Simoncini decals are available on eBay for little money.
Included is a Miche bottom bracket, 165mm Miche cranks with a TA 44t chainring and a Tange G Master headset. Both turn freely. Note that the headset uses needle bearings so will never turn as smoothly as a ball bearing headset.
The two forks have different crown race diameters so will require a new crown race if you wish to use the original fork. The chrome fork is about 10mm longer than the original fork.

£250 ono. Inspection/collection from N16.

So i'm thinking of getting a thorn disc fork for my pompetamine for improved mounts and all that. It's 383mm axle to crown with a 52mm off set and will take 40c tyres and guards. Sound like a good match? It does cost more than I paid on the frame which seems a bit silly.
Surly Disc Trucker fork is a slightly cheaper option and matches the Pompetamine fork length.

ha, yeah, 104mm BCD.
I've had success with it without a clutched mech, despite not really using it as intended: on a rigid, 8 speed cross bike with 38mm tyres with too much air in them I've lost the chain once descending over washboard roots. They're designed for 9/10 speed so the increased internal width of an 8 speed chain may have been the cause of that chain drop.
I'll let you know when it's available. Vectiox were pretty slow sending out this one so it might be a while.

Ideal would be a something reasonably utilitarian (decent clearances, steel). Something like a Surly Pacer would be great, but these tend to come up pretty rarely in the smaller sizes. Either a cross or road frame is okay.
Need around a 48-50cm top tube.
Will consider a complete bike or just the frame.
Thanks!

Is additional sleeping cat not enough to appease you?
Here's a photo in it's previous guise.
Headtube measures 180mm.

Wouldn't the derailleur be too narrow with the 8 speed chains?
I've never had this issue using 105 rear mechs with 8 speed chains, but then again they are specified as suitable for 8,9 or 10 speed drivetrains unlike the mountain bike derailleurs.
Looks like I'll just have to continue living my life with a bit more chain noise.

No, standard horizontal top tube.
