No disrespect to the deceased or pedestrians intended. Of course, give way where it is expected but waving people out (where it's not anticipated), in my experience, is the number one cause of accidents or near misses in central London. It only serves to make already congested roads even more unpredictable.

Eastern league in Chelmsford was the annual reminder to sharpen up my dismounts with 5 per lap. All followed by hard accelerations as the rest of the course was so fast. @Ramsaye looked like he was having lots of fun too.

TRP Hylex and the Tektro Banjo Kit as sold here (I'm waiting to hear back what the difference is between the OEM kit and the rest).

Tricky conditions yesterday: greasy on the grass and sandy in the woods under the protection of the canopy. Saw plenty of crashes. Really liked the change of course from normal, splitting the hill in half introduced a bumpy, high-speed, technical corner and a bit more elevation (with 20 seconds to recover inbetween).
It'll be interesting to see what they change for the second race there, anyone have any idea why they stopped using the other side of the park?

This year I'm going to run two wheelsets - a tubeless set which will normally have intermediate tyres for the drier races, then a tubular set with mud tyres for lower-pressure, muddier days. I can then use the other wheelset as a backup in the pits, should I puncture.
Some people have entire libraries of wheels and tyre choices at home with something for every condition, others rely on one tyre for the entire season. If I was doing the latter I think I would select a mud tyre with a fast-running strip down the middle, such as the frequently mentioned Vittoria XL.
Cross season is less than a week away now! Here are September's races reasonably local to London:
3rd September: London League, Stanmer Park, Brighton
10th September: Eastern League, Chelmsford OR East Kent League, Sandwich
16th September: Eastern League, Langdon Hills, Near Basildon
17th September: London League, Herne Hill
23rd September: Central League, Welwyn Garden City
24th September: London League, Penshurst OR Eastern League, Northlands, near Basildon OR Three Peaks
30th September: Central League, Milton Keynes
1st October: London League, Stanmer Park OR Eastern League, Colchester -
Amazing effort @BareNecessities! particularly given the heat earlier.

I'm going to flake out on this. Been going a bit too hard on the cross training and not really feeling motivated for 12+ hours on a mountain bike which will probably set me back for the start of the season next week. That and my washers haven't arrived so I'll probably have to face the ignominy of single speed malfunctions. All the excuses.
Good luck everyone else! If anyone wants my spot in the 12 hour solos I'm sure it could be transferred on the day with an email.

ah yeah, it was the TB20 I was looking at after all, as a direct equivilant to those XR22 clinchers. @cycleclinic assuming there's nothing disc and tubular with an offset from Kinlin?

Sram Rival 11 speed shifters with a Rival 11 speed rear mech and a 10 speed cassette. Will that work?
