how much was the customs charge by the way?
Customs charging for wheels works out like this.
VAT @ 17.5%
Customs @ 4.7% (percentage set for bicycle wheels)
Parcel Force will charge you around £8 for handlingYou should be charged the VAT and the customs based on the sale price excluding the delivery.
So work out the final price inc the above charges then add on the shipping.

I didn't want to start a new thread so hopefully this will get noticed. I'm currently eyeing up a carbon composite wheel but it is already painted. If I applied something like Nitromors to the wheel will I ruin the composite? Is the paint stripper too strong? I don't want to purchase the wheel and then potentially destroy it before getting to ride it.
Thanks.

I bought from wheelandsprocket, not your wheels though, I ordered my wheels on a Friday morning and they arrived in London Monday at 10am, super fast delivery, think mine cost 110 all in.
Weinmann? I don't like the set up he offers for the Velocity's, I'd rather have the Formula hubs. But I'm also willing to wait to see if anyone gets any of those H Plus Son rims.

"One of the things that make cycling so great is that it enables you to avoid crowds and pointless delays. Few things are more satisfying than effortlessly weaving your way through a traffic jam.
*"So while I’ll begrudge nobody his or her Critical Mass, personally I don’t understand the appeal of forming a crowd and creating a pointless delay. And it is a delay, whether you’re in a car or on a bike. *
*"I once accidentally got caught in a Critical Mass ride while out riding. I felt like a dolphin ensnared in a tuna net. One second I was sailing along, and the next I was trapped among a bunch of people with rickety bikes rolling on wobbly, rusty brown steel rims on the verge of collapse. *
*"It was like watching a Beatles “Yellow Submarine”-esque cartoon LSD sequence where all the bicycles were rolling on pretzels. Sure, they had taken back the streets, but I wish that as a cyclist they might have saved a small sliver for me so I could get to where I was going." *The guy doesn't look like he's riding anything rickety or rusting. Is bikesnob suggesting that the police should have only targeted the 'hippies'? I agree with his sentiment that antagonising people by slowing them down is pointless but the method of frustration by the policeman is not on.
Although am I surprised? He probably accused him of being a terrorist.

Has anyone got any experience of buying them from the ebay seller wheelandsprocket? I've worked out with VAT, Duty (at 4.7%) and ParcelForce handling, they will come to £196.
Wheelandsprocket fits hollow Joytech hubs, is it worth me paying the little bit extra and going for a build at BLB who fit solid Formula hubs for £40 extra? I'm about 100 miles away from London so there's no real benefit of me going to collect them...
Thanks.
Jos if you ever get in anything like that in 58cm+ could you let me know? I'm ever so slow on the uptake on sales in this bloody classified section.
