I thought it was the other way around - hence George Michael getting caught out in the US by a plain-clothes officer who propositioned him, which would not happen (legally) here.
Yep, looks like I'm wrong.
Although it seems like it's not just black and white (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entrapment). Anyway, I haven't had my bike stolen (yet) and nor have my friends so I'll let this thread return to being on topic.

With that bike locked on just the seatpost, it's likely to be called an entrapment.
No, it's called a weak locking strategy (or just plain stupid, depending on where you stand) and the thief is still a thief.
Send the pictures to the police - the thieving scrotes are usually "known to the police" as they put it in the news.
Entrapment wouldn't be the right word anyway - my partially-informed mind has entrapment down as being when someone from law enforcement sets up a sting in order to catch criminals. This is not allowed in the US, but is here (probably with a whole crapton of provisos).

Nice ride out to Garston this morning guys - rainfall radar looks alright for you today, maybe a brief shower or two. Made it to my desk with aaaages to spare (10mins).
Rode back via the A41 - nice and quick, but then got snarled up in the traffic jam that is Hampstead at 9am. There really is nothing like 5 hours restless sleep and 40-odd miles to start the day
Looks like you'll have a nice 15-20mph tailwind all the way there. You'll be glad for that tomorrow no doubt.
