Cavendish did his job well. Pull the bunch along untill the hills then pull off the front, slip off the back, climb into the wagon. That was always going to be his job in this race.
It was hardly a team of one day specialists. There biggist fault in this race was telling everyone they were going for the win, wich they wernt, and didnt.
Costa was actualy my pick, after I reolised that Gerrans and Ciolek wernt racing. Ciolek was told he couldnt race as his new beard gave him an unfair advantage.

Fucking hell. If I worked in Evans I'd be rude too.
Yes, this happens everyday, in shops and businesses all over the world. Customers just pay for what they receive, either before or having received it, whether a service or in tangible goods.
Apart from you, cos you're a special case, and you get stuff for free normally, cos the shop is blessed by your presence, and lucky to have within the space it pays for, and the people who need to be paid to work there learn stuff from you that helps them in the future. So it should be done for you for nothing. I'm amazed they didn't try to slip you a tenner for needing their services when you did. You really helped them by turning up in what is called, in wanker speak, a "distress purchase environment". You needed them, they helped you, and you walked out.
Maybe everyone is like you. Let's hope not, because every shop you walk into will have a hand written sign saying "Sorry, closed due to bankruptcy." So no food, no things, and no services forthcoming at all. And a long, hungry walk back to your cold home the next time you need a lock ring tightened.
Go back tomorrow and pay them.
Repped.
I'm trying to think of other places you'd go to expecting free use of tools and labour, or in fact where you'd hand over your property for repair without agreeing on a price, or discussing the nature of the work...?
Also, to have a pop at all Evans stores for this disagreement is unfair. From what I can tell, they have made significant progress in the past couple of years with their customer care and staff training.
When I worked in a bike shop we would have done this for free. Not because we are kind harted souls but because little things like that, that take no time at all, will bring a customer back to the shop. I would have probably had a little chat as well. Its called good customer service and genraly brings people back to the shop. You can work for a national company but still give LBS sevice. Thats why some Evans are good and some arnt.
We did charge a pound for air though. Unless it was someone we knew, or a pretty girl, or someone who was frendly, or someone who was spending money, or the boss was away.

Can we have a selected team of 'pro' riders to put up on a pedistal? We can all get sponsered by Foffa Bikes,.
Only joking. An LFGSS CC would be great. If I were in the Uk I would join. There have already been rides and races where LFGSS has represented (Rapha Gentlemans race with two teams!). People also already put LFGSS down as there racing team as well. It makes sence to me. I think it would add another dimention to the forum as a whole rather then taking away something. It already caters for SOOO many types of bike riding. Why not racing as well?

HH sounds a bit sketchy. At the track in Auckland we start off the season with begineers, school kids, masters and A graders all riding togeather and dont seem to have the same issues. Some of the kids (the faster ones) are a little sketchy to begin with but a polite word from an old head useualy sets them right. Its a hard track for begineers as well (46dergrees outdoor concrete).
The coaching is excelent though (and only $25 for the season).
I literaly cant wait for the season to begin.

http://uk.reuters.com/article/2007/07/26/soccer-world-digest-idUKL2625990220070726
"England defender Jonathan Woodgate was voted the worst signing of the 21st century by readers of www.marca.com, the Web site for Spain's biggest selling sports daily. The 27-year-old was the runaway winner polling 37.11 percent of the votes cast on their Web page, the newspaper said."
First impressions and all that.
I watched that game in Spain and he was pretty much the olny defender for Real Madrid the whole game (well, untill he got sent off). He actualy played really well but the other defenders were all trying to score goals so he was pretty much on his own. Great finish on the own goal as well.

I have popped out a few times with ATACs, snapped two sets of ROCs and a set of ALIUMs. Now on a set of old carbon plastic (the sweet yellow ones) wich I have un clipped with once on a big hill bomb. What is one to do? Ride shimano? Haha, I dont think so. I think the problem is that these really arnt designed for skidding on (no clipless peddals are). Putting that much load on them one is always going to run the risk of the occational unclip.
It could be worse, we could all be riding on eggbeaters....
