They gave it until 4 to make a decision but it stayed wet so they abandoned then.

Nice of Ed Clancy to keep an eye on my bike.

mdizzle, the 8 Freights are designed by Mike Burrows. I've briefly (although not over a longer distance) ridden one owned by bikefix and quite liked it. He used to custom-make them. Don't know if he still does.
He does - or at least he was went I went to see him a couple of weeks back. Might not be ideal for transporting kids around, but they do work well for lugging hefty amounts around.
This is ours loaded up http://www.bassfreight.com/ -

This year I shall be mainly using these

A Pavel GOG for tight slalom and a Kaliber #87 for GS. And it's smaller brother the #77 for general cruising about. Longboards are fine on hills and if you've got loads of space, but I prefer a shorter board for weaving in and out of people. Wheelwise, I'm on 3dm Avalons or Retro Zig-Zags and trucks are Tracker or a Tracker/GOG combo.

ditto, prefer the ME Super but the K1000 was my first camera, it was nice and simple and pretty bloody reliable at that, build as a tank, it have a cult status as the best camera for first timer I think.
that's pretty much it really, I don't really love it that much thought, it's fucking huge and heavy after recieving the ME Super.
look how small the ME Super is!!!;

Just to be a pedant, that's an MX rather than an ME Super, but you're right the ME Super (my first proper camera) was a lot smaller. Only have 1 film camera now, an EOS-1N RS but it doesn't see a lot of action nowadays.

Just got off of the phone to a friend who's just had her second bike stolen in 6 months.
It's a Piccacle Borealis that she bought in October to replace her stolen Trek before riding Edinburgh to Newcastle with me. Stolen from her garden in the Tower Hill area so I'm thinking it might turn up in Brick Lane. If anyone comes across it, feel free to give it's current 'owner' a good kicking.Not the best pic but

what is the crack with people, there is a big fncking list of decent tyres to use,
looking at that list, mine appear under the 'puncture resistant' section which would be borne out by my only previous puncture being caused by hitting a curb while avoiding a van. I doubt any amount of puncture resistance would have helped with the 4 inch nail that caused the second of my hat trick.
Vindicates my normal policy of not going south of the river though, anyone would think that tarmac hadn't been invented the amount of cobbled streets over there. -

Just wanted to add my thanks to the organisers. Had a fantastic ride despite getting dropped by the fast group on the uphills. Excellent route and superb weather.
Tom and I made it back at 5.30 and I took a slightly roundabout way back home to take my mileage over the 100.
