She's on Bravecto. She's due another in October but maybe it's worn off already. She can have her October tablet this evening I think.
Over the last 3 days I think I've pulled about 12-15 off her.
I use 50% deet but I still find them crawling on my legs and arms. I had lyme disease once I really don't want it again. -

This one I just got, as you can see, was in pretty much perfect condition for a 60+ year old pan. It didn't need reseasoning but I just wanted it to be hygienic and wondered if any lazy/quick fix solutions. So yeah I just cleaned it well with salt and bicarb and soap and it's sorted now. I've used cast iron for a while and I learnt that you can abuse it pretty badly. As long as it's at the right temperature when you cook, that's the main thing I found.

What struck me straight away when I saw it. It was hidden at the bottom of a junk pile in a Loppis (Swedish junk shop/flea market).
@ChasnotRobert Table is v nice, sadly not mine. Friends are out of town so we are house sitting their place in Åhus.

@hugo7 I know but it could have been pissed on by a thousand cats. I had to do something.
@Grumpy_Git now it's looking great. I actually think I only got through a few layers of ancient seasoning. Probably why it still cooks so well despite my attacks. Either way I'm happy now. I won't go the nuclear route.

Yeah sorry I should have specified, non enameled.
Exactly for hygiene reasons @hugo7
In the end I went at it with baking soda, salt and washing up liquid until the sponge stopped going brown. Then just cooked it on the hob until it was dry and then seasoned.
Just cooked an egg on it and it works wonderfully. No bad smell or taste. -

Can second muck boots. Easy on/off as they have good tabs on the back to pry off with the other foot.
