Ah I get you, I'm not sure if I have that from my other tattoos with yellow, but these new ones are sure healing funny.
I wonder what it is about yellow, must be some kind of pigment or mineral, or maybe that they can sometimes go harder on the yellow as it's hard to see?
Yours looks like they've healed wonderfully. Also super awesome tattoos.
@edmundro is it always those colours or just those colours from one particular artist?

Cheers @JB @edmundro
Due to this trip (in which I didn't swim) I only had access to clean water in the mornings and evenings so I decided to dry heal. So first few days normal, then I let them do their own thing, but obvs cleaning them morning and evening. I've done it before and it's been fine, but I don't like doing it.
Tattoos always look like shit when healing like this so I'm probably being paranoid.
@JB what kinda stuff does your yellow get up to? -

I've used it before and yeah it's a pain to take off. In this circumstance I will indeed be putting it on and then taking it right off, not ideal but the timing is terrible. I'm fairly certain I'll be able to get it watertight cause it's not gonna be a big tattoo and it will be on a pretty flat area near my chest.
Edit. It's a warm lake. I probably won't swim and just enjoy some kayaking. Different when it's the cold Atlantic.

Thanks this sounds spot on.
Only issue is that it's hard to find real saniderm at short notice and most of the other stuff contains Nitrile which I recently found out I'm allergic to. None of these saniderm rip offs have ingredient info on Amazon so it's hard to tell. I might just get one anyway. The allergy doesn't kick in until a few hours and I'm not gonna be in the water that long really. -
I have a tattoo appointment booked with Pete Corrie tomorrow (been booked for ages) and my gf just told me she arranged a snorkelling trip this the weekend for my birthday (bed and breakfast can't change dates). It's this massive deep lake/river system 2hr north of Berlin and I am big snorkelling fan (not a euph).
I've swum many times in seas/rivers/lakes with open wounds and never had a problem. Usually the sea because it's so easy to get cut. When I was younger I also swam in the sea with a fresh tattoo as I didn't know any better.
I'm not going to cancel on Pete and I would be liar if I said I wasn't going to go swimming. What's the best way to protect the fresh tattoo. Saniderm? Elastoplast spray on plaster? Just clean it real good after swimming?
I know this is a dumb question because it's really advised against. I just wondered if anyone had a good tip about protecting it. Or am I overthinking the whole thing?
