-1 for the tiny tent.
-1 for cut down foam mat
-1 for spd'sI spent a nearly month and a half in a tiny tent whilst touring and it was a nightmare, I really really wished I had a bigger one. If you've been cycling all day and you're sweaty and tired the last thing you want is a small compact little tent that you can barely sit up in, let alone fully stretch out.
I had a vango banshee which is meant to be a 2 man!! What a load of shit, this was uncomfortable for one person and I'm neither fat or particularly tall being a mere 11.5 st and 5'11".
My mate who was touring with me had a Terra Nova 2 man tent which was nearly double the size of mine and didn't weigh much more, oh how jealous I became, thoughts of sabotage had to be forced from my mind on a number of occasions.Like Seldom Killer i got raped in my back from camping on uneven ground, however, I would have been in even more pain had I not had a self inflating roll mat. A bit heavier than foam but 10x more comfortable.
I was so glad that I wasn't wearing spd's for my trip. We were on and off the bikes quite a bit, taking photos, exploring etc and I reckon that had I been using spds then I would have been searching around in my bags for my normal shoes the whole time. Clips and straps ftw Plus its one less pair of shoes to pack.
