what has happened to menchov, he was a powerhouse in the giro, is he just knackered from that?
i cant wait for ventoux, but i have to admit im not looking forward to the end of the tour. catching up on the days racing has become part of my routine. with ventoux being near the end everyones gonna raise hell and give it everything.

i reckon wiggo might reclaim some places tommorow, but surely hes gonna loose them again come more mountains. hes good, but there are better climbers. i look forward to seeing the TT tommorow, cancellara is one of my favourites so itl be good to see him again.
yeah i dont like contador, your right to compare him to c rinaldo, i despise them in the same manner. but he is good, he almost seems inhuman, im yet to see him even look slightly tired, stressed or even out of breath. he never looks like he really pushing it.

i got slain by the storm, but it was great fun. pulling my bike over the steepest part of the north downs (18%avg 22%max) was a mission. the water was gushing down the road as i tried to climb, and i was losing loads of traction and losing my back end in skids.
only once i have ridden in such bad weather, and that was more to do with coastal winds.

ive just got some midge bars for my shonky SS XC bike. i really rate them. very comfortable and great for getting more aero, but still having alot of control on rough surfaces. great for honking up hills due to thier width. i spend alot more time in the drops offroad becuase of them.
dont think id want them on a road bike though, i think the width would be a bit much. very comfortable if your not bothered about going fast though.
this was about bullhorns wasnt it...

all these american videos are so boring and faddy, i dont think id enjoy riding anywhere near as much if all i had to ride on was flat grid sections, or constant steep hills like in SF. im a rolling hills, country road, spinning on 700's rider 4 lyfe bro.
id like to see a video made, and i like to offer my skills to help make it. however these days im more of a geared roadie, with no video equipment apart from a crappy mini DV, and i dont live in london.
id like one of those small cameras so that you can mount it all diffrent places on the bike, to add diffrent shots to the follow cam that you in every video.

i dont get why youd want an electric bike that you still have to pedal. either you want to pedal a normal bike or you want the motor to do the work for you. you ceratinly wouldnt want to pedal that thing without the motor assist.
i actually really want an electricbike. which is why im going to look at a crash damaged electric moped this weekend. it got written off in a crash but aparently the drive is still in working order. i still need to see it to check it out, but id like to transplant the drive into somthing else.
with that said im not sure what. i origionally wanted to fit it to a 700c skinny tyre road bike. but now im thinking about it i reckon some fatter/stronger MTB wheels and some disk brakes might be a much safer option! maybe even suspension! i have a feeling that it might end up sitting my garage for a while.

try selecting the right gears and taking a break (kitkat) every now and then. i also find not doing the same routes too often helps.
ive been doing 50miles a day scince i got my geared bike 6 weeks ago, mainly in rolling kent countryside, but the last week ive been feeling really burned out so have been taking it easy and only going out for 10mile spins in the evening. holy crap do i feel better! going for shorter rides has improved my riding technique, i was spending too much time sitting and riding the small gears before.
there are days when i hate cycling, but these tend to be days when somthing isnt working properly on the bike, or i keep getting punctures. i had massive egg last week, my front derailluer didnt want to shift and i got 4 punctures, then it stormed and i didnt have any appropriate clothing. then i tried to take a shortcut to get home quicker, but kept finding myself being led onto a motorway. all during this time my waterbottle kept jumping out of the cage and my map kept getting lost in my pocket. it wasnt a good day and i swore alot at the bike gods. but that is just one day of my life.

borrowed a Fizik Arione after hearing good things about them. it felt real good for about an hour after tilting the nose up a bit, but after that i started to get a really horrible ache when i slid right to the back of the saddle for climbing. not a fan.
this was on my geared bike. i reckon i would get on fine with it on my fixed becuase i dont do any real climbing on it, and dont ride for hours at a time.
cant remember where i got the pic, somewhere when i was trawling the net for cinellis. i have the horrible feeling its a showbike that doesnt get ridden. i think thats the most beautiful bike i have seen.
