I'm a fan of cheap pads. Tried Koop stop, but prefered xt/xtr. Then got some fibrax v brake pads on a pair of second hand avid brakes. They are all I have used since, work well and are nice a cheap.

no punctures, Its thin and so it wont last as long as some. But it is much lighter than most of the tires that size and gets lots of grip.
