Slightly similar to one I did.

Soaked the handle foar a minute or two in order to raise the fibres befor next sanding pass. Makes the surface smoother and denser when finished I think.

Decided to stop working on the shape and just finish it up.
Photo is after three passes of 180 grit with soaking in water in between.
Next a few passes of 280 grit, maybe even 600... I’m goung to polish the blade, I think.

I also just realised that while wood carving a great calming activity you're more prone to fuck ups if you go at it with a mind preoccupied with real life annoyances...

I do like the fact, that if you make a mistake you can only attempt to rectify by moving more material, though.
Wonder how much handle will remain when I'm done cursing over getting those chamfers straight and symmetrical.

I know i’s not friday, but I just dug this out of the closet, treated it to a new battery and an cheap too small mesh bracelet I had forgotten about.

I like how the big seconds hand is part of the stopwatch mechanism and is just resting there. I wish I could swap the miyota movement for a mech/auto/kinetic one...

Maybe I should get a bigger mesh...

Sounds reasonable, gotta look into making a proper edge from scratch. Right now the edge looks like a Kiso Mountains view.

I did find a length of 5 mm brass rod in my basement though. Intended for mudguard stays, but I think it will still be long enough after I take the 50 mm I need for pins. you got to love cramped and messy basements.

The knife itself is nothing special, but belonged to mu late father in law so it holds a sentimental value to my wife.
It’s been treated badly and then neglected for years though so I thought I’d do it up and give it a new handle.

The two parts of the handle are turned so the cut surfaces create a mirrored pattern at the top.
The handle is now roughly cut to shape and I just need some brass pins/tube before I glue it all up.

I’m also debating if I should start filing the edge befor I put the handle on. Edge is in very bad shape so will need a good bit of work before actual sharpening.

Lovely. Cherry wood is nice. I used it for the knife I made.

I found a bit of mahogany left in the basement from a kitchen renovation about 20 years ago.
Currently in the (slow) process of trying to make it into something useful...

I used to just flip the bike over and sit om the floor.
No stool or bungies needed.

I used to have a 500cc two stroke. Lot's of brraaappping on the occasion that I actually got it started.

Adjustable spanner and bits screwdriver is what I'll get. + tyre/tube repair, knife, tape and glue.
No space for a coffee brewer under the seat unfortunately.

I’ve had the same problem. Was a very cheap fix at a local (copenhagen) repair shop.

A heads up:
Manky natos go in the washing machine. Just leave it in a trouser pocket.

I don't have recovery on my policy. I had to limp it home on a single cylinder last week due to a broken fuel banjo on the left carb. I cut out the cross over fuel line to be able to shut off fuel to one side only.

We got some horrible cheap stamped ones with plastic scales by laguiole. despite the nastyness they manage to do the job well enough so that I haven't been allowed to replace them yet. :(

What do you guys think are essential fo an on board mini tool kit?
Especially for an 1982 italian bike.

I like to use leather laces. Not the round flimsy stuff, but strips of full grain leather. No fraying ends.
