Toby, the thing with forks is you can always cut them down, so the extra threaded steerer tube might not be a bad thing.
it infact should be fine, 102mm isn't threaded, which will be in your headtube.Cheers Mr Brows,
No issues with thread when cutting down? Any suggestions on decent cheap headsets, i'm hitting the bay.

Just to pick some brains on forks...
I've measured my frame which gives headtube length of 157mm (with 165mm to bottom of the cup it has fitted)
I was looking at these forks kingkong recommended http://www.freemanscycles.co.uk/product2.asp?product_id=1235&pname=Steel%20Forks
They have 254mm steerer of which 152mm is threaded. So this would be too long for me right? or does one always cut them down?
I haven't got a headset yet which I understand makes some difference... but not 10cm right?

Or you could drill the fork, I doubt you'd find forks which would suit the colour... maybe chrome. Pop over to the engineering dept and we'll sort you out.
Lovvers have indeed an album "think" released next week, will be playing Notts in a fortnight and free gig at old blue last for the London goers tonight (I'll be there)

Toby, not getting at you or anything, but you've just posted on a different thread that you're riding a track frame. That's going to be worth more than £20, unless of course it's cracked to shit. Plus your £170 wheels, another hundred (?) for cranks and all the little bits... You see what I'm driving at here. Don't scrimp on the lock. It would be such a royal fuck in the arse if it was stolen and you were back to square one.
Cheers Tomasito, I know what you mean! Frame and components only cost me £20, but your right they're worth lots more and I should get something much more secure.

Prav, the cup is labled Campag mirage, I think it's a record so i'll want to remove it and find something cheaper... are they push fit? Ie. can I pull the bugger off with something..?
