Cheers for the advice, I'm afraid I'm going to have to pass on this, not confident enough to take it apart and break out the multi meter, let alone a soldering iron. I'm dropping it off to a chap tonight to get it looked at, apparently he does a lot of the repair and warranty work for a well regarded hifi shop up in Aberdeen, all other options would have required me to post it off and I don't feel comfortable doing that either!

Did a bit of screen printing a while back, my niece wearing her older sisters face and one of the sister for comparison. #Amidoingthisright?

Cheers, I'm based in Scotland so would be couriering it down but not too fussed about that, have had a quote for around £100 - £130 for the repair but only 3 mths warranty. I know what you mean about sentimental value, I've had this for over 10 years, would feel like such a waste throwing it away, will fire off a couple of emails.

So, I think this is the most appropriate place for this, My 13 year old Marantz SR5400 AV receiver has decided to go a bit off the rails. Last night I was using it, at this point the powered sub-woofer was turned off, the pre-out was all connected up. I decided to turn it on and after a couple of seconds the Marantz put itself into standby, tried to turn it back on and same, standby, turned off SW, Standby, disconnected everything at the back of the amp, Standby. A little bit upset by this, at the moment there is no way I can justify replacing it with a brand spanking new amp, a second hand amp doesn't fill me with joy either as I would worry the same would happen again so I'm going down the repair route, having never had anything repaired or serviced professionally before I was wondering if anyone had any experience and how economically viable it all is? Any info greatly received.

NOW ON EBAY, Not for sale here! Here I have a lovely old fork from my very first fixie skidder, before the frame got a big crack in it! I believe it's Reynolds 531 tubing, it is for a 700c wheel and its a lovely shade of red. It has 18.5cm of steerer and 2.5 - 3cm of thread. I'm based up in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, so price includes postage. Will upload pics tomorrow

Just an update, I phoned up outspokentraining.co.uk and they were super helpful, initially I was going to book one in Cambridge as that was the only one listed but they had a trainer in Bury St Edmunds who could do a more bespoke lesson and show her the ropes on her actual route to work. She had her lesson on the 10th of September which she enjoyed but found challanging, she actually teared up at one point when she had to go through a busy junction but she did it once with the instructor and once on her own.
Yesterday she cycled to work on her own for the first time, realised she forgot the key for her lock so cycled home, picked it up and cycled back to work and was very confident with it all, big whoop to the cycle training folk, highly recommended!

Not a bike light but if anyone is after a head torch then this is pretty good value, it does have one of those add on battery packs which isn't very clear but it's pretty bright and USB chargeable

Is this bad or good (assuming bad)? Need something half decent for winter mountain bike action but I'm a touch skint, was hoping this would fit the bill!
