I ride in the city and out of town BUT if I was touring for days/a week or more I would personally prefer to do it on gears, just seems odd to wanna have massive open roads and you get to the spinning point and know that you can't go any quicker, "Shit, wish I'd used gears now!", I've even done it myself...
Wasn't meaning to have a pop at you/them, just don't see the point. Bit like driving a Ferrari in 2nd gearThere probably is no point to it but its still a hell of an achievement although after watching the trailer I now want a MASH Jersey and bibs!

The boardman team is a grand and full carbon with sram rival I think. Has had lots of good things said about it as well.

i'm coming from sydney australia, my airline quoted me $360USD excess baggage fees for one way ($720 return), postage is about the same. i figure if i get a bike over there i can sell it after i'm done and get (some) money back.
Makes a lot more sense now, you can get a bike for a tenner over there off the less salubrious residents of the Dam, won't be quite as awesome as your current bike mind:)
