i saw you on newmarket road the other day , red and blue not red and black ! is that not a Paris head badge or Claud Butler? -

Wotcha Honky , welcome ! The Cambridge Fixed thing is gaining momentum and is very diverse and not exclusive. If you're about on a thursday night drop by and say hello, after 9pm we're usually boozing in the Maypole being insular and petty.
I think we need to start a 'post yer bikes' thread..
I agree but can we call it "Pictures of Lily" ,my fave Who track from when i was a kid which i later discovered to my horror was all about wanking.

Spotted, today some guy on a red Colnago ,fixed going up Maids Causeway this morning , didn't get a chance to check whether it was a conversion or not .It looked sweet as, though . Also spotted a red and black painted old something badged frame ,fixed on newmarket road . I couldn't get a good view or say hello as i was in my works transit, but are any of you on here?

Captain Anders' route :
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2341352Lagavulin shortage is a reflection of the credit crunch affecting thursday night rides, we'll be drinking Tescos own brand or Bells in the park soon.

Last night's sortie fucked my left knee.
Would like to do some Sundays if it's nice weather . It would be good if a route was planned and agreed on and posted in advance with a date especially if i don't have to do it. Maybe take the train out to somewhere or further (if anything exhists out beyond here). Can we have a picnic and an old fashioned gramaphone player and a grouse shoot with air rifles from the recycling centre? -

I think it's either a matter of pride that the route isn't decided until the last 10 seconds before we leave OR there is some kind of covert secret procedure to eliminate the possibility of being followed. Some of our members are in professions of a delicate nature that require they have to turn up an hour late with no lights or the wrong sprocket just to keep any potential surveillance guessing . Will and Jamie hit upon the novel idea of immersing themselves in diesel before they set off. Others have had to resort to more deliberate attempts to disrupt any predictability by breaking off parts of their bikes . Though obviously this can't be repeated too many times without arousing suspicion , it helps having a few spare bikes to break on alternate weeks .
The captain armband is now officially being used as a guide to recognizing the identity of person who might have a better idea of where we are going , but as the armband is bestowed to a new recipient 15 seconds before we leave, its use in route planning is minimal.
The lack of any discipline on the thursdays ride has been the subject of endless unresolved debate . I am of the opinion that we adopt the new "dutch " model of "free-riding" whereby once we can adhere to the "lawless, nihilstic deathwish" approach to cycling. This european modern theory states that it is statistically proven, you are a better road user you should cycle consciously trying to get killed and retrogradially following all aspects the highway code . This was piloted late on saturday night and findings proved taking a blind corner on the wrong side of the road was safer as it was statistically proved anyone coming in the opposite direction would probably be equally as stupid/pissed/dutch and both parties would pass each other harmlessly. -

I'm building an old 1930's Chater lea track bike , i've so far got an old quill stem and a frame just looking for everything else . I know they made quite a lot of other parts too at that time, was going to try and source as much age related "Chater Lea" parts as possible . If anyone knows a source or willing to part with some stuff that may be of interest, would be appreciated. I want to use 27' rims and drop bars and no brake.
Regards RV
