Phelps on his way out.
Some good news for a change. Why do people care so much about him and westboro? Its only a bunch of 70people with shouty signs. How are they able to emotionally unsettle so many people around the world?

~~Dont underestimate DJ's point. Road frames are extremely similar, especially when you narrow it down to "classic steel". Seriously just figure out what your correct size is, if you dont know get a beater with approx dimensions for £50 and figure out what tweaks in proportions you need.
Then hit ebay, bike forum classifieds & bike jumbles. Pick the one with the best tubing for your budget and there you go.~~
Go get a sweet foffa & customise it with aerospokes.

OMG its just clicked that DR WHO is the epitome of lecherous older men in the BBC. The programme started up right in the golden years of BBC kiddy fiddling and features a very old man repeatedly abducting teenage girls and taking them inside his magical
caravantardis for secret fun that nobody must know about. -
The end you clamp your AHead stem to; it has no solid attachment to anything else until you get to the wedge/cone inside the steerer, several inches away. If it's a wedge, you can also be pretty certain that the axis of the quill will be skewed from the steerer axis, see Chris King on facing AHead stem for why this a bad thing.
I totally get what tester is saying now, this bodge is definitely a bad idea! With a threaded headset you lock up the nuts so there is perfect tension (preload?) on the headset bearings, and of course perfect alignment.
Same goes for threadless, you adjust the preload with the star nut bolt thing, and the alignment will be right.
With this bodge, the adapter is becoming an extension of the steerer, but like tester said it will probably be wonky! Imagine a threadless steerer that was for some reason bent. Those bearings are going to die, real quick!

I would, but the fork now does not protrude above the headset
If you have enough steerer to get the headset top nut on, they its fine - threadless adapter will work. Or quill stem for that matter!
If you have no threadspace to affix headset your fucked.
-edit-
I just figured out what you were suggesting. Using a threadless aheadset in combination with quill adapter. With the right headset this might just work.

You make it sound like they are getting these bikes for free and so don't give a damn about them. Tell me more about these thieves...
There seemed to be some sentiment above that thieves would not have a pop at a bike secured with the sheldon method, because they wouldn't think it was worth losing the value of rear wheel etc..

Does anyone know how to make a really good traditional Pilaf/Pilau?
Ideally someone from a country than ends with "an". Im Bengali myself, and sure we are the kings of curry. But our versions of it are bollocks. Plus I cant even get that right. I suck at cooking rice, add the whole ghee thing to the mix and I create a mess everytime.
There is certain flavourings in good versions that I dont even recognise, and subtlety too.

£50? Nice hoodie...
In defense, back when kids used to buy their clothes from skateboard shops, like in the 90's. The standard price for a skate brand hoody was £65. These were generic not at all special hoody's with a screen print of the relevant brand. Everyone used to happily buy this stuff, not like rich streetwear slaves but normal kids.
This fixie hoody seems like they have put a lot of effort in to make it interesting and different. So fair play I say.

Tighter hip angle means more power though surely...
