Yeah I'd second getting clinchers. I found quite a few sets of wheels listed only to find out they were tubs when I investigated further. They weren't worth the hassle in my opinion.

Whilst I love the forward-cargo Omium/Bullit design, I'm seeing lots of affordable rear-cargo designs like the Kona Ute and Yuba. I've not seen nearly as much in the way of custom build or mods for those designs though. Is that because there are less options?

Theres quite a few options for funny 650c wheels around if you're that way inclined. I found some Spinergy RevX wheels as did @SWijland

Sunn were great brand as well and their bikes always looked right. The BMiX was another bike I've lusted after since then.

Loving the thread, so many interesting builds. The Nukeproof looks great fun and is a genre of bike I've been looking into recently. It seems we last rode mountain bikes at roughly the same time if you were on a Lobo. How are you finding it?

Good find with the forks though I know what you meant about the aesthetics where they meet. It almost looks like the bike has a 1.5" headtube in that first picture but it's not as noticeable in side profile. I'm sure it rides nicer too!
