I'm clearing up a few rust spots on my frame and I can't quite get a good match colour wise for a touch up paint, so will just clear coat on bare metal after removing rust.
How hard wearing is nail varnish ? Most automotive clear coats seem to come in aerosols which isn't ideal for small spots of metal

I love stuff like the above.
Training with a fixed on the road is total and utter rubbish. If there was the faintest possible benefit contintental pros would do it - and they don't. Ever
Yes, because we should all train like continental pros. After all, we all have three week long stage races in our racing calendar. Oh, wait....
@ de Selby - Pushing a big gear and spinning a smaller one works different systems in your body. Big gear, low rpm helps build strength while low gear, high rpm helps build speed. Most peoples training would include both I'd imagine, unless you're a TT'er who pushes a stupid dinner plate up front ;)
If you're not in training for anything I wouldn't worry either way, do what feels comfortable.

Erm.. they're not 'fragile' and the performance gains over a 30yo steel track bike are huge.. over a new alu or good steel bike, less so but noticeable.
I road a 50 year old steel road/path frame (complete with clearence for mudguards and pump pegs !) with airlite hubs and fiamme/mavic sprint rims during track league this year. Didn't notice any difference between it and a modern aluminuim track frame, and I don't think I'd notice the difference between it and a Carbon frame.
I'm sure Chris Hoy would flex my poor frame into oblivion, but for a 4th cat chipper like myself there's isn't much of a difference between frames.

Just got an email about the 3 top deal for £90. So, as my polyester base layers have a smell that would offend the dead, I bought them.
Don't think that's a bad price for 3 merino base layers.Got a mix of long and short sleeve.
Pro tip - washing cycling clothing after you've sweated in it removes the smell

@Edscoble - The Sugino Messenger is the RD2 crank though, no ? Lot cheaper than a 75 crank

I visited there pre-make over during the TdF weekend last year, and found him very chatty and approachable. Was gutted when I found out about the price increases, as I quite fancied getting one of their frames.
