Some Waterways bloke comes along and fishes out the dog, then puts in a black binliner, adds a couple of rocks and chucks it back in!!

A friend of mine got mugged on the canal by victoria park late one night last summer.

He was riding along and had just overtaken one pedestrian, then was stopped by 2 undesirables. Turns out the person he overtook had nothing to do with it, and on spotting the mugging going on infront of him....

Rather than come to my friend's aid, this guys logic was to take his phone out, raise it above his head to keep it dry, then jump in the canal, to keep himself safe from the muggers. Once my pal was finished with being mugged, the guy in the canal asked for help to get out, which was politely declined.

Am after a replacement 26" inch rear wheel for an old town bike. Internal hub or freewheel, but no cassette.

Currently have a Sturmey Archer 3peed hub, but the thing weighs the same as the frame, so looking to lighten the load a little. As long as it's chrome and runs true...

When I was out there, I went sniffing around a fair abit around Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka - but things were still so expensive.

I was told the best bet would to be to buy one on the japanese yahoo auctions, (bigger than ebay over there apparently) of course you'd have to be pretty lucky in terms of timing it etc.

But that's where you'll get a better deal.
