Yeah, that recessed allen key nut, you want the drill the diameter the thinner bit of that, so that'll fit and the lip will grip the back of the fork / bridge over the stays.

Best to just incrementally enlarge the drill bit until it's good, otherwise you could be in trouble as dicki said.

Older frames had a smaller diameter hole for brakes. You just need to drill the holes to widen the hole a little. Isn't as daunting as it sounds, takes a cpl of seconds.

Wise tips, I'd also probably give it a punt. Would also try and use as long a seatpost as possible, to have as much inside the seatpost, to spread the load.
