What's up with all the PCs and PCSOs loitering around the Shoreditch High St / Great Eastern St / Commercial St Cross Roads in the mornings? They've been there all week in numbers.

I've not seen them collar anyone, the only people I've seen them talking to are drivers. Any idea what they're doing, it seems quite an organised campaign whatever it is.

It's a botch, but i've used a hairpin to thread through the chain link part of the indicator to force it to hold its position at a certain tension and so hold a certain gear. The hairpin stops the hub from pulling the indicator chain back into the hub.

You can pick up those indicator chains on the bay for a couple of quid, they just screw in nice and easy.

I'd pick one up and screw it to the right tension so the hub is catching the gear you need.

The shock always numbs the pain initially. If the knee pain continues worsening, first thing I'd do is to rest that and potentially get it looked at A & E

You've done exactly what was asked of you, I can't see how the fault lies with you in this at all.

A more permanent solution, but works for me.

Superglue ball bearings in the seatpost clamp and saddle clamp bolts. You can still get it out with a needle, some acetone and patience. Three things thieves rarely have.

Just take the time to get it in the right place before you get the superglue out!

flip-the wheel around if the threads on the other side are good.

otherwise you need a new hub. you can't do a lock-ring finger tight, that's pretty dangerous.

Sounds like the rear sprocket may have come loose a little, so it's spinning in the hub thread, tighten it up and the lockring too.

Could you space out the hub a little? If the dropout is the right width, I can't see whether it's track or horizontal should matter.

Pretty sure I've got a Nitto Pearl that matches this. (120mm) Can check this weekend if you remind me!
