i think i might buy this. any views?
Seems a bit overpriced to me. It has been on gumtree for ages too which would indicate others agree. At the mo it is on ebay too with a starting price of £550, 7Hrs left and no bidders. I'd say that is better.
Or for that money this is nicer IMHO. For over 500 notes I'd want a good bit of DA or Record.

Nowt to do with me.

Hi Minsukito, I'm afraid saddles are too subjective a thing to say if it will be comfortable for you. Plenty of tour riders have ridden Turbos but if they don't fit you they don't fit. Think about them like jeans, one man's meat is another man's poison.
Besides no I'm afraid I wouldn't do it for £35.NOS regular turbos in white are £90 at Tour de Ville and there is a fairly knackered one on the bay for £65. And this is a super rare version. I'm afraid what I'm asking for is offers, if had a price in mind I'd have just put a price on it. Sorry.

Sorry last couple of things from my clear out that aren't intended for bikes with gears.
A Campag Vento front, clincher, 700c - (like a Shamal but with 20 spokes and on a Chorus hub). With a brand new Gatorskin and a Continental innertube. ON HOLD

And a NOS White Turbo Triathlon; a turbo but intended for lo-pro comfort. All the way from 1986, obscure. I'll admit better suited to ebay but offers...?

So the clear out continues, a couple of bits I thought would be better suited to here that the 'bay.
Orbit frame and forks, in what I can only imagine is at least 531 (27.0 seatpost).
55 c-t-c top tube and seat tube
57 c-t-t seat tube
fully chromed rear triangle, semi wrap over stays. and good nick, the paint is all good.Respaced to 120, a polo or beater candidate. SOLD

But...right hand drop out was repaired/replaced (not by me). It's alright now, perfectly ridable but not pretty.

Oh and the headset needs greasing but I don't have two headset spanners so I can't open it.It will come with this seatpost unless someone can provide me with a compelling reason otherwise.

I'm in sunny (rainy) Dalston.

I certainly don't want to start an argument and this probably isn't the place for it, but I'd say there are no hard and fast rules; many would agree with dogs and 31, but IMHO if you have to drop a size to save yourself from sitting on the top tube because it is an inch or at most two higher, then you road bike is too big. In my experience the difference in standover height is really hardly noticeable. Standover height isn't a major issue on a track bike anyway, the smaller frame thing comes from sprinters wanting stiffer bikes and a bit swing clearance for out of the saddle stomping. Top tube length is also an issue but lets not get into it...
Personally I think on a track bike, sitting down as you are most of the time , seatpost bob is way more annoying than having to lift my foot an inch higher to get off. People argue for all sorts of 'musts' with regards to sizing, if I was going to make a claim for one it would be taking it for a spin, esp at $880. At a guess either way it is still probably a bit small for you and it ain't a bargain. Keep looking I'd say. -
That whole drop a size thing on track bikes is a point of dispute I'd say. A lot of places say that isn't the case. The top tube may be higher from the ground but then of course so are the pedals. For a normal track bike the same as your road size will be fine. Anyway this is a moot point. A 53 isn't going to fit you if you are 6ft, and showing that much post on a classic'ish' bike will look odd, think how long seatposts were when that thing was new, 19 or 25cm.
At a guess I'd say you need a 56 and remember to always check if the measurement is centre to top or centre to centre or you could end up buying a bike that is two sizes too small. -

I've just cleaned up a pair of these for my track bike. Record low flange hubs laced 3x (tied and soldered) to these. Lovely rims.
That's what I'm talkin' about, low flange hubs, low profile rims. Tubs and loads of spoke, it feels the best. Not great on our fair city's streets though, I'll give you that, but for special occasions...

I've been eyeing those covetously for a while I admit, but I've been a turbo man for a long time now and it took me ages to find the slim version. Lovely looking saddles though the supercorsa, that is certain.
