Yeah great race thanks to all involved. We were a select and (fool)hardy few, but it was still full of Christmas cheer!
A combination of far flung checkpoints and those headwinds mean my legs are complaining today. I think only Jonny's festive grog kept me going (don't think I want to know what was in it!). -
I once saw a photo on the side at my mates design studio - thought it was someone I knew then realised it wasn't and said loudly 'ohhh - it's that cnut from Coldplay' (it was the drummer). Everyone went quiet and I turned around Chris Martin was sat there. 'Er, hello'. Classy.
Surely not too awkward - Cnut was still a king, even if a somewhat megalomaniacal and deluded one. As a matter of fact, wasn't there a recent Coldplay single about that?!

We studied a lot of Roland Barthes (who is probably out of date now) but his theory of semiotics means that every image contains symbolism and provides a structure of interpretation.
It only means this if it's true!
And isn't that only a framework for understanding the communication process, regardless of whether we acknowledge it or not? -
I'm with the drinking crowd.
I'll be along for my first south drinks, but no food...
I warn you when given the chance I tend to be nervous, drink too much and then make a fool out of myself... but it should be amusing! :-)
Down't worry Mr K, as long as pajamas is in attendance you won't be the only one ;-)

**I like this comment particularly: **
"I think that if cyclist are going to ride on the road then they should obey the traffic lights and stop when it turns red if there are persons at the traffic lights waiting to cross. It really annoys me when the light turns green and i cross the road (as a pedestrian) to then look to my left or right to see a cyclist bolting towards me and i am the type of person to get pedestrian rage if a cyclist rides into me. if the pedestrian crossing is clear then by all means cyclists ride on you are not going to get any tickets for running red lights. But it is precisely that rule that makes them think they can do it every time. Please let us all have some respect on the roads. (yeah right like thats gonna happen)"
He sets out the argument so clearly, I mean, I'd never understood the objection before!
Remember to breathe when reading it! -

Riding home from Trix last night I was following a massive luxury coach over tower bridge. Was thinking to pass it on the approach, and noticed it had a French reg. so thought I'd be clever, and seeing as the driver was therefore on the left (and probably more used to checking his left mirror) I decided to pass on the inside (seeing as he wasn't going to turn left on the bridge). As soon as I move up the inside he closes in really quickly (like on purpose?) forcing me to lock the pedals and swing out, just missing the back of him as he went past. I then passed him on the outside and gave him a glare as I went past. He just stared back as if to say 'Bof!'.
Moral being, don't assume all drivers are idiots. Some of them are just malevolent. -
