Those bakfiets trikes are very heavy. You can get the christiania trike frames on their own (at least velorution can, not sure about oslo), if you wanted to build a box. You could then put fat front tyres on, though I'm not sure how they'd enjoy the side loads you get on a trike. Does royce make pedal car hubs with disc mounts? They would be most pimping. And perfect for some fat front tyres on a trike.

These are amazing. The tsunami is just more awesome everytime I see something new on it.

Velodrome panning shot- From the Guardian 24 hours in pictures:
"London, England: Vladimir Tuychiev of Uzbekistan races during the Men's omnium flying lap at the UCI World Cup track cycling, an official test event for the London 2012 Olympic Games, at the Velodrome in the Olympic Park"
I had a few goes trying to this exact shot on thursday, but my laptop is bust and I can't upload my shots to see if I was successful.

We took a plastic bottle of whiskey in fine. It's a test event so all the security staff are practising. The scanner operators were quite slow, and the frisks were very thorough, but they weren't actually looking for anything, just practising.
Taking a toddler will be fine, there were quite a few last night. Lots of space to run around, explore, and the staff inside didn't really seem to mind people going for a wander.
There were a fair few grumpy and tired kids on the trek back out again though.

Great evening. Not too much of a faff getting in, but a total faff getting out, 6000 people descending on busses at once, great plan.
The velodrome is amazing though, the atmosphere when the GB teams were going was amazing. Glad I managed to get a look in at a least one session of cycling, either now or at the olympics.
Oh and nice to meet you kingfisher, hope your drinking shots came out well!

I'm sat in block 118 which is near the center of the banking. I've packed my DSLR, a fisheye and long lens, along with a "reasonable" packed lunch ( I decided to leave the ceremonial dagger and over sized hat at home) So I hope they all make it past security OK.
I'm in 119, which is supposedly right next to you. I'll have a similar lens collection. I have a big moustache if you fancy saying hi/sharing a beer (if there is any).

Which "dimensions eactly"? Like a vertical cylinder that would completely inclose all of it? or a horizontal? or at an angle? You could inclose a lot of air if you put it at a funny angle. Also what's the air pressure and density? Is it humid? Foggy?
tenuous fact of the day :)
I like it.
(can you tell I'm trying to finish my PhD at the moment and anal detail is kind of my life?)

Urgh, I resisting from posting in this thread but this is too good. Danny England? Used to play rugby with him, before I quit because of everyone being a cunt (UCL rugby woohoo). Surprisingly he was quite decent amongst the human fecal matter that made up the rest of the club.

We've got three in our house. A basic one that's red, an electro acoustic one of my wifes and a knackered banjolele that needs a new skin. Love the things, need to play them more.
Also I'd really love an electric one, to play very loud and distorted, a little like warren ellis. Difficult to find such a thing, old fender mandocasters are pricey, and non existent left handed. Ellis' sinature thing is also not lefty, (http://www.eastwoodguitars.com/Other/warrenEllisSignatureTenor/warrenEllis_frm.htm drool). I could make one but don't have the time and resources at the mo.

I'd love to join in on one of these. It will have to be fixed as that's all I have. Also I'm unsure about my fitness, though I'm sure I'd be able to keep up on 30miles of flattish fixed riding.
