Your healing rates may be impaired due to the necrosis / impaired circulation resulting from the compartment syndrome. Was it traumatic / exercise induced or purely circulatory?
You should have received clear guidance from your surgeon - if not then get this next week at your review. I would expect progressive pain free loading over the next 6-8 weeks while the scar heals. You should be walking in 2wks so long as pressures remain stable but this may vary. The skin can remain quite fragile for sometime and the front of the shin is particularly slow to recover. Check with your physio regarding return to cycling - it will provide a non-impact form of exercise which will help with vascular return and swelling management provided it is gentle - again check with your surgical team - I wouldn't want to undo their good work without a physcial assessment and more medical info.
Good luck with your recovery.

Just push through it. Up your gearing by at least 20", make sure your pedalstroke is erratic and 'snatchy', never let your cadence get above 70rpm, and drop your saddle by 6".
If you follow this advice, and make sure you keep your knees exposed during the winter, it'll clear up quickly, and stay healthy.
Old school advice here: Will either end in success or failure like most interventions. The body is great at adapting to extreme loading, just give it time.

Hi Pifko,
LFGSS Physio here,
There is still no evidence for pre-exercise stretching in terms of injury reduction. A warm up is important to optimise neurovascular activity and I'd recommend you ensure the muscles you will be using are happy working through the required range (typically hams / quads / lumbopelvic region / calves)
Stretching during may help eliminate lactate accumulation but is probably offering relief through short-term lengthening of the neural bed and elastic connective tissue.
I recommend daily stretching for most of the riders I see as this is found to improve muscle function.
Also worth considering your position on the bike as this may place excessive loading on your quads.

Hi Folks, posting this on behalf of a colleague. Great condition, well maintained with many upgrades. Please email him direct on: yak.elias@gmail.com
1st generation Specialized Langster for sale, black/grey 54cm. Forks upgraded to Pro-Lite carbon aero, and brakes upgraded to Tiagra. Deda Piega 40cm (c to c) bars with gel strips and bontrager gel tape. Genetic saddle (200g). Both wheels now have hollow axles with a Ti rear skewer and 5mm alan bolt and an XTR QR on the front. It has crudracers on at the moment, and they will stay if they're wanted. It's neat and tidy with no scratches/scrapes and still on it's original (not worn out) chain (not done that many miles), although I do have a new spare I will throw in.
It's in fixed mode at present, with the original 48 tooth chainset and a Miche 18 tooth rear sproket (I have a 19 as well) - gives a 72" gear. I no longer have the freewheel.
Price £240.
It's not sold with the pedals or the Ti seatpost, but these can be included at extra cost.
I'm in East London, thanks for looking.
Ps there's other stuff for sale, if you are interested in any of the other things, please get in touch -

Hi folks,
I am now back from leave and a few days of studying the extreme subtleties of thoracic spine and ribcage biomechanics - never knew breathing was so complex.
I have interviews for 2012 Physio selection tommorrow and looking essay deadlines but clinics are returning to normal with increasing capacity after the 11th March.
PM's have been replied to this evening.
Regards,
Michael.

Thursday clinics will remain unchanged.
