I'm gonna go with the general consensus. I have some straps on the ready, I'll put them on tomorrow and have a go.
I'll probably ride around the outside of regents park to get some practice cos it's nice and quiet. I'd hate to get into bother on the busy roads i commute on, namely Picadilly and Park lane... doesn't bear thinking about..
cheers for the friendly advice chaps..

Good going for going fixed. Now you just need to get some straps and clips to tie them feet down.
I don't feel safe doing that yet. especially not in traffic and whatnot.
i'm still a bit buckaro happy as my autopilot says "freewheel" and my sense says "nooooo!".
been riding since i can remember so i think it's gonna take a while.

Just sorted my bike out to go fixed and went for my 1st time fixed ride.
Passing through St Johns Wood (nice quiet streets) i probably looked like a right tit as the bike buckarooed me everytime i tried to stop. I automatically forget the absence of freewheel...
Have to say tho, after 15 mins, i kinda got used to it and i'm enjoying it cos you have to think in "circles" with your legs always.
I'm riding open pedal at the mo (is that good thing ?)as i'm a bit scared that i won't be able to get my feet off in time cos i'm not used to it.
Anyway, just wanted to share my enthusiasm for the "fixed way" and i think i will take it very slowly untill i get used to it.
peace out!

wash it with Nikwax to waterproof it... sure it would work ya know
It'll be one of the cheap ones... £15 if it were printed... £20 because of the embroidery? It's just cotton, so it's not go any of the waterproof benefits of their £25 cap so they'd be hard-pushed to justify it for that price or above.

this is a bit of a hijack this thread time, but better here than a fresh thread and besides this thread made me think.....
i'm looking for a cog, and i was gonna go for a cheap and cheerful £5 jobbie from SJS cycles.... is that wise ?
Or Should i go for the far more expensive EAI cog ?
i can't see what difference there might be other than longer lasting

righhhhhttt.....
