funnily enough after starting this thread I opted not to buy cycling specific waterproof trousers for the bike and instead bought some cheap walkers/farmers/builders waterproof over-trousers which i seldom use. £5.
it's small, light and I carry it with me everywhere and has lasted 3 years so far.
keeps my dry for the hour/half hour I need them for.the best compromise

bib 3/4 tights with long sealskins
or
the full monty with the long bibs and any socks you want,
either way,
they are super comfortable and give you unrestricted insulation and comfort on the bike.
bought some for the 1st time recently and can't complain, in comparison to leg warmers they are far superior.Pay particular attention to the pad, for if they are badly stitched and not feathered in on they edges they are certainly going to chaff and hurt.
I learnt to my disappointment with my first bib tights (Santini) :( I might have to modify these to feather the edges of the pad.
Other than that they are excellent quality, a crying shame. -

i used it on my road bike, and where i usually double wrap my bars, the mavic alone is sufficient.
It's the best tape i've so far tried and most importantly it's stays grippy in all conditions, even in stinking rain.
It's also really tough and hard wearing and doesn't rip like some others I've used. -

got a snow flake in my eye today, and i'm not joking i couldn't open my eye for a few mins.
So clear glasses for me tomorrow. Not often i wear them, only in peak summer, and darksest coldest winter do i ever find the need.
i use some Endura ones i got for £10.I well and truly do not see what benefits a £200 Oakley glasses can make, but i'm open to exactly why you may think they are.
All i want and need is a barrier between the elements and my eyes. Job done.

in searching i found these, Specialized Sub Zero. £20, for 2 gloves; outer (windproof and waterproof) and liner, both of which you can use individually in need be.
Seems to have pretty decent reviews.http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=17463
just ordered a pair, will let you know how they are, pretty good deal.
