I've been thinking of late about 'my' perfect bike that i would like to have one day.
That perfect bike would be one that i would build myself..... from frame construction to the handlebars, stem, and anything that can be done viably on my own. Obviously, chains, cranks, cog and so on would have to be bought.
Personally id have no 'separate' seat post, just the frame seatube extended and made to measure with a seat put on top. (Rocklobster used to do that i think)
Similar approach to the steam and handlebars, just one piece with a quill type fitting.the bike would look clean and simple with no logos or fancy lugs. Just simple function made to measure for myself.
I cant think of anything better that, although some of you here will probably think there are loads of better bikes out there than anyone could conceivably build themselves.
peace out!

CINELLI REYNOLDS 653 FRAME - RALEIGH 653 RACE
cinelli Reynolds 653 frame branded as Raleigh, made in England but
*with CINELLI made in italy inprint in steel below the bottom bracket (i have pictures of this).""**This is not a cinelli it's just a cinelli bottom bracket shell, it's Definitely a Raleigh - this was one of the Special Products framesets, they were never sold as complete bikes this is a rare and sought after frame and from the period when Raleigh provided the bikes for the Castorama (Laurent Fignon) team*.**sorry for any confusion."
still might be cheap and cheerful

that's awesome! if only you met the same people on the road all the time innit.
that's why cyclist get a hard time i rekon, cos you can't [in theory] catch a car on a bike,
and the chances of seeing the same person twice is minimal.
people in cars feel they can do anything without remand.
Boo i say !! -

this i have no real idea on, but one thing i know is that the Trek Madone frame is one of the lightest available.
Making this frame into a fixie would be :-a] possible ?
b] given a] is a yes, awesome ? or
c] given a] is a yes, plain daft and not cool at all ?YouTube - Tour of California - Astana's Trek Madone 6.9
just a gander at a fleeting thought. What you think boios' ?

if you know it's slippery, its all about keeping it steady and slow in corners. keeping your weight away from the front and your body upright as possible so in the event that you do slip you can put your feet down and prevent the body against tarmac smash effect. If you have SPD pedals, un-clip them before the corner just in case. Absolutely nothing worse than being stuck to your bike when you wipe out.

i think if you confer with the seller to give you the item as a 'gift'.
There's loophole somewhere i believe ;) gift = no tax.
