oh ok, the last shoes i had just had a plastic insole that was very stiff and hard(unfortunately i don't have them anymore).
the cleats just clamped onto the hard plastic insole with the small threaded metal bit, that came with the cleats.

if the chain is re-occuringly pushing on one of the vertebra, it could be pressurising your lower lumbar spinal nerve, giving you characteristic shooting pains that people with slip disc almost always talk about.

you'd have to shift your seat back a little and perhaps shorten the stem, as your knee to your ankle line should be vertical at the forward most point of the pedal stroke.

punctures near the valve are usually caused by under infaltion or the valve not sitting square to the rim. 20c-25c /700 tyres need a min of 80psi i'd say to be good for goin.

Hub-Jub sell the Italian made Gorilla frames i think...

they appear to be good but i haven't seen nor heard of them elsewhere. the tubing seems unfamiliar to me also.

people use these hubs often as far as i can see, if your a heavy weight then no it's not good.

ok just got back, first impressions are its good for flat ground, faster pickup hills are easier, however stopping is gonna take some getting used to.( I buckarooed down the road like a mad donkey when I forgot and tried to coast while at some speed)

haha ! yes, im familiar to it :D buckarooing did embarras me but now i just pull my legs up, slow down and carry on. happened on the long hill just past Victoria Embankment today, so i coasted all the way down with my pedals turning at mince meat speed...it's quite funny.

nice one for going fixed tho m8. it's rather good when you get used to it. I think i'm 98% converted...

be careful of winding through cars in jams, cos your pedal can strike the pavement.. that's what i learnt v quickly.

man i just tried these straps and they'll be in the classifieds by tomorrow.

Spent most of my time trying to get my feet in whilst the cages scraped on the floor.... far too precarious and dangerous... didn't like em one bit.

I tried stopping and starting for an hour or so.... nah, just don't like the idea of being 'strapped in', gives me the heebie jeebies.

i'm finding the same thing ! my bike seems to 'go' better, might be that my previous hub had pitted bearing races, but nontheless it's all gravy.

my feet fell off the pedals several times on the way back past Picadilly and Edgware road, people must think im a right berk riding with my knees in my chest haha... it's a fucking laugh innit... learning this malarkey..

oh and also, pedal struck big time squeezing through a gap and a pavement...

i'm learning quick, far more fun than i thought !
