And Webb. Or is he just Fergie's bitch?
Webb was a total twat last night, Ba backed into Kosc twice in a row when going for the header and won the free kick every time, the third time Kosc flattened him and Webb couldn't give the free kick else he would have had to get a card out.. in fact that long ball was Newcastles only tactic. from the time wasting keeper (started that shit in the first half?!?!) up to Ba who goes down for a free kick. terrible to watch
Still good to see The Arsenal dig in like that. The atmosphere was incredible and the spirit in that team is as good as i have seen since the days of Flamini/Hleb/Cesc/Tom etc not bad work given the changes we have had to make.. so City will continue to bottle it, spurs will slip and hold 4th, Arsenal will be pushing for second.
ALso think i am developing a soft spot for Theo, his work rate and tackling last night were up with his running. finally looking like the player we thought he could be, be a tough call when Ryo comes back from loan..

If I were only a fraction less broke than I am, I would be there. I ski, no snowboard, but have all my own gear, love the snow, and want to get back on it.
Cannot afford it though... this month is hand to mouth. Sucks, but I'm sure you'll find someone, have a blast, and I'll be jealous.
I did a few days boarding in Jan, the snow was perfect, runs wide and long and sun was shining.. life really does not get better than those aching 8 hours a day.
It kills being broke...
If any of you are single and undecided my friend Leah who is a burlesque dancer is also coming....
and having a family...

Not so. A change had to be made to ensure qualification. We could not rely on Spurs falling apart as they are doing. Too late for the transfer window and with players and manager not seeing eye to eye, the manager was the only movable part. The players have, by all accounts, been given a bollocking and it is clear that any new manager (or RDM) will be allowed a major clear out in the sumer of any players not willing to toe the line. We have witnessed the highpoint of power of player power, never to be repeated.
Is qualification really that important for a club in transition, agreed it attracts big players but with big players moving into what?
AVB was never publicly backed and without the history of results behind him he couldn't rely on his position as manager.
The transfer window was closed but players could have been moved out on loan to clear the space and make it clear his intentions.
There were several key goals in games where none of the old guard celebrated with the other players. the highpoint of player power is one of the lowest points in football. refusing to put the effort in for your team because you believe you know better than the manager, thats sad for the supportersWhich ever manager steps in is going to write a massive golden handshake into their contract, and ask for a lot of money to buy them time and a string of results whilst spending more on changing the way the club play - i am assuming this goes right through to the youth policy?!? not a lot seems to come out of it.
All that dribble said, i can see your optimism. it has to pick up from here and for a big money club their is a shift in attitudes going on. at least you haven't gone knee jerk and signed the downings and hendersons of this world
Pffft. Everton should consider themselves lucky if they get Martinez in when Moyes leaves in June.
agreed. he would do well with decent players. Wigans squad is piss weak

Good news.
Love thei RVP article
Oh Robin, with your salt and pepper-flecked temples and your eyes; dark, wild and darting, like two endless pools of Castrol sump oil. Your left foot: cultured and versatile. Your right foot: used mainly for standing on. You lovely, lovely Dutchman. I just want to peel off your skin and climb inside you. Y’know? Wear you like a babygro…

I have to admit - and i love seeing Libpool and the spuds lose.. but neither team are playing badly.
Spurs have had the rub all year, players have been on form, OGs have been going in for them, pens their way etc etc we all hit purple patches theirs is just at a bad time but i still fancy them to steal 4th. they have played some of the best football this season, weak at the back but parker has sured that up and given them a platform to get forwards in numbers.. this wont happen next year, people have sussed it out.
Liverpool create allot but have no composure in front of goal and tactically can't keep it tight in the middle. Look at the players they have and i'd say King Kenny is getting the best out of them. they have lacked any shape since Alonso and Macha left.
Rogers is a good manager but he is building on what Martinez started.. who FWIW is a top manager. If Liverpool had the balls they should stick him in and give him 3-5 years to re-shape them. if you look at Wigans squad the the money they have he has done wonders keeping them where they are.

At least he hasn't left it late like he usually does, as good as Podolski's stats may look he never quite made it at a higher level (Bayern Munich), Köln are a team that at some stage in their history were quite good. Bit like Newcastle, that would make him the German Alan Shearer I guess.
He is a good fit IF (needs a bigger IF but i can't do fonts) Wenger lets him do his thing up front and doesn't decide to play him out wide so he can learn the value of tracking back...!
That out and out hanger does wonders for the shape of the team, Sanchez is about as creative as a dairylea triangle but his movement makes so much space for the rest to move into. Arsenal can only stretch teams on the flanks with Theos "pace" and a total fear of Gervhinos forehead. a player like the big German would see players like Ramsey, Arteta, Jack, Rosicky (finally returning on what he promised!) all getting in on the goals.
its a position we have lacked for a long time
-
Not quite, about 250km. So that will be the replacement for van Persie I guess.
Don't think it's an improvement but it's better than playing Walcott in that position.Replacement for Chamakh and Park, stick another man in the box and those blind balls we pump in might just find a player.
RVP is a worry, I doubt he will hit this kind of form again with his injury issues and right now he could sign a contract to make him for life. but Arsenal wont give him that kind of money. shame to see him go but wouldn't be surprised. Wenger will find another

little vid prior to avb being sacked... and about Rafa as potential manager

Roman abramovitch
He sacks who he wants!Genius from the cheski fans!
The special one will not go back. as for Pep.. never in a million years. you couldn't get two more contrasting clubs. one built on a foundation of skill and work rate with a great history and one built in a bent mans money and mouthy mediocre players like "lamps" and "terry"they will get Woy and that will be the making of them
Messi looked alright last night. shades of Theo about him

WB you belter!
At lease we fucking won something. HOW many more times
Jesus fucking christ on a fucking bike
Our last trophy was won on pens by Vierra's last kick of the ball for our club, i was ashamed we won that because Utd battered us the entire game. FACT. and i didn't stay out drinking because i wasn't in the mood to celebrate
Liverpool have a long way to go, nearly as long as Arsenal but we'll see who is progressing better next weekend.
-
Nice to see Liverpool back where they belong and winning trophies. Winding up all the knob goblers on here in the process.
It was a very good game. Downing had his best match for Liverpool by a mile. I think we had over 20 corners. Henderson and Carroll were woeful. But its the result that counts and another trophy at the end of the day is most welcomedbaning a few balls into the box and failing to find a single libpool player. i prey you buy Theo - he is your saviour!
(for two games a season if its anything like us)
-
shall we all join sides and gang up on arse
they're even shitter than we are !( now we've got our carling cup )
i have yet to find a liverpool supporter proud of that performance, in fact many news publications have refused to use the words performance when discussing liverpools efforts. understandably..
and the money spent to achieve that.. man that has to hurt!
thats so pathetically close to my house i might have to go. it means football on a wednesday will have to fall out the calendar....
I know the lbs's well around here. i'll print out some flyers and throw them up in the shops and better bars/cafes.
Sof is a producer at the BEEB so i'l get her to put it in there news letter. they are just over the way.
FWIW there is the perfect space for a court under the flyover next to the BBC white city offices.
