It's tough to pick a favourite, the hug is nice, if I was a nickys house, maybe a little drunk after a nice bar-b-q (nice grill set up btw nicky, dread to ask what you paid for that) I could imagine sticking my head in the middle of that little group hug and sporting it as a hat.
In fact i feel let down by the way nicky has demoted some of that terracotta to the back ground, Get that little cheeky lattice number on to the grass, show it off some

Real Madrid v Barcelona, 21:00With Real Madrid looking so much stronger this season, this match could make or break this la liga season. Probably will have to find some place to watch it out and about.
was chatting to one of my team mates tonight after our game and he was at the last Barca match and said they set out with no striker and Cesc the furthest forward, the back 4 stayed a back 4 and Alves hardly moved over the half way line. they walked it 4-0 but broke deep and attacked with a bank of 4 players..
they will have to play deep counter attacking football to counter the pace of Madrid, i have a feeling they will not do it this time.they are still the best footballing team around - first team right through the squad so they will adapt their game quicker.. a lot like city really.. Ja ja ja

If you lot win the title I'll be physically sick.
me to.
horrible thought.
If Harry does the job of keeping his key players, and he is a good enough man manager to make them feel they are the favoured underdogs, then I can't see why he would go to manage England. what a shit job!
Harry gets the buzz of football and spending all that time watching players and dealing with the media and politics for a handful of games a year with the media constantly on your back... who would want that!! He has a good number and good young squad..If i was him i'd stick it out and prove what he can do at Spurs, by then the crop of players available for england will be a crop capable of winning something, if a good number of those come from Spurs he could walk to the England job and really make a go of it.
as much as i despise the england team there are shards of light shining through.. Spurs should get in to the top 4 at the expense of Chelsea (I can't see them fixing up the defence in time and see them focusing on Europe)
As for the Arsenal... If Wenger does some good business in Jan and backs up RVP then we have enough in the tank to get into the top 4.. we have the experience in the run in, but we just could do without the Jan collapse. -
The MPW recipe callos for some half eggs... how does this work? I ended up just using one very small egg instead. The rest calls for whole eggs.
I will scan the page in if you are interested.I use a microplane to zest the lemons so one is not left with large pieces of zest. Works nicely. Ive started using the microplane quite a lot lately..
Its an interesting way of combining veg into cooking without kids knowing it is in there.
Yolk is just under 20g, whites just under 30g so i guess they want you to weigh them out, Heston style.
Once you go micro-planing you don't go back! i went back to mine after grating the tip off my finger last week, add that to the lemon juice
feeding veg to kids is a great challange, i like a lot of what Everitt-matthias does with his deserts, he has really got my ideas going. i am lucky with my two, muscat grapes, pomegranate seeds, melon balled williams pear/cantaloupe and peeled english plums.. all look like little gems to them. but the keeping the veg exciting is a ball ache cause you have to keep fats, salts and sugars to a minimum.. and there is only so much puree you can put in front of them.
Braising in fruit juice works fairly well at the moment, as does really finely sliced raw celeriac, carrot etc have succeeded at times.

you know it builds up inside over a long period of time, months of snapping at interns, then sharp exchanges with QC's before exploding over the political persuasions of the leading judges under the rafters of Temple watering holes and attacking them head on for un-just changes in legislation...
when at the end of the day his football team is shit

lots of teams would be glad to have chelsea's problems. world class players underperforming, and all that.
didn't see the first twenty five mins, but the Slain of Teen, said Liverpool were doing the hard work, harrying, and hustling. Chelsea came alive when Sturridge came on, scored the goal, and then pushed on as if they were a goal behind. I'm not a fan of Lampard in the middle, seems to slow play down, doesn't have the legs to get into the box with one of those trademark late runs, and his passing isn't as good as he thinks it is. think a better trio would be Meireles, Ramires and that young barcelona holding midfielder Romeu, with sturridge, torres and mata up front.
Mourinho's got a lot to answer for in relation to the retardation of Obi Mikel, who doesn't seem to know what he is, or where he wants to play.
It's folly for AVB to be under pressure, Abramovich gave him the remit of revitalising Chelsea's play and he's trying to do that, season of remaking them, couple more transfers in the summer window, get back essien at some point, shift out some more dead wood, and hit the ground running next season... Not sure he can remake it on the fly this season, as now all the news is about how much pressure he's under and how Champions league football is a must, otherwise his job is on the line.
As much as I hate to admit it, Wenger did a good job of steadying the ship, plus Arsenal's fixtures helped somewhat after the tonking by united, so the cries for his head had dissipated somewhat.
Anyway the mighty spurs take on Darren Bent tonight, should be interesting, think Bent's going to come out with a point to prove, and no amount of trying to downplay it will change that... Think Defoe will want to show he's a better striker than the england team currently suggests, but Bent is the more versatile front man.. What a front line we'd have if we had Bent and Adebayor.. Doesn't bear thinking about...
Fixtures helped massively for us, but the best part is how we now defend as a team in numbers and push the ball a lot harder than we have for the past 3 seasons.. well since flamini left.
the team realise they have to fight every minute to keep the ball as they don't have the match winners and flair players they once had. this IMO is a great thing for us.Bring on Feb/March for the filthy spuds.. thats going to be an ugly few weeks in the calendar for your lot

There are a lot of top level managers that would disagree with you - Wenger in particular. Note that he sold Henry when he started to slow down, due to injuries. You might still be able to play well, but if you can't run fast, you won't be able to make the grade at the highest level.

“but ultimately it’s a player’s ability to reach a speed threshold of seven metres per second.”
Theo....
ok agreed, the norm is for top athletes but there is space in all teams for Maldinis, Scholes, Cantonas, Crouches, Delaps.. etc those who have a footballing brain or unique asset.
I wouldn't say cycling is the sameI wonder when Wenger will find that bug in his spreadsheet that keeps hiding the rows concerning theos accurate crosses and goals scored/conceded at set pieces.. maybe he should upgrade to office 7 or what ever it is now adays

Ive got the Bocca book and it is good. Not actually cooked anything from it yet but ive been meaning to.
Re re Pork. I like small cut up pieces of the belly, roasted then cut up. Cooked with loads of cumin then served with lemon juice over it. Moorish pork scratchings!
I agree about the icing sugar in the pastry. its a must. MPW's recipe calls for lemon zest and vanilla in the tart base which I thought was great. Could have just eaten the cooked pastry on its own!
I wanna make another lemon tart. getting very very hungry for one now!
Did the recipe you have for MPW have whole eggs or a mix of whole and yolks? i couldn't find the one i had so went to the roux brothers recipe which uses whole eggs, i think removing some of the whites gives it a better texture
The zest would work in the pastry as i pass my mix through a chinois so loose all the zest prior to cooking, i also have a habit of tasting the mix to be sure it has the balance so sneaking lemon in the pastry would throw me
spiced pork stratchings!! why haven't pubs cottoned on to this yet?

@TLoin
keep the chunks of apple else you loose the texture, you can keep them raw or warm them up, and by warm them up just do it enough to liven up the juices and take out some of the tartness
If you were using crab apples you could cut them across the middle in thick slices (giving you that lovely star shape where the seeds sit on show) keep them in acidulated water and then drop them in a pan of light caramel, take the caramel off the heat and let them sit for 30-90 seconds, just enough to soften the outside and take on some sweetness but still crunchy in the middle. then put them on greaseproof to cool.As for the belly pork - i would braise it till it falls with the help of a spoon, remove the skin and bones and press the meat whilst chilling overnight (the other option is ballotine it so you get round slices - just presentation stuff but can work) once cold cut into neat squares and leave in the fridge. all this can be done well in advance.
when serving fry off the squares of pork to brown them, put the cracking on a tray in the oven at 200+. keep them separate as cooking the meat at a temperature needed to crisp the skin would dry the meat and cause the fat to seep out (what moro did)
Loccatelli?? not come across that, worth a read?
