if less people take taxi, how would the taxi automatically blame the cyclists for reducing their business?

I mean, particually in central London I see usually rich tourists, oversea bankers, stockholders, etc. taking taxi, as well as a handful of local suit, surely right now they'd blame the current recession than the cyclists.

I did not mean the taxi drivers would blame the cyclists per se, just that they would have more anger than usual, and hence be more likely to take it out on cyclists than usual. Never mind, tongue was firmly in cheek.

Why not buy a 2nd hand OTP? That way you get something straight away, and it should hold its value should you choose to sell it. Then you get to spend a few months figuring out what you like/dislike, and use this to buy something you're more into.

Don't feel you have to buy your perfect bike straight away - it will take you a while of riding a fixed bike to figure out what your perfect bike is, anyway.

I see a small positive side to that, less fat cat taking taxi, i.e. less taxi jumping red, accelerating like a mother due to the driver trying to get big tips.

or fewer people taking taxis -> taxi drivers more pissed off & more likely to take it out on cyclists...

Bear in mind that a road conversion will feel totally different to a bike with track geometry. So a Fuji Track, for instance, will feel very different to a geared road bike when you take it for a spin.

The charge plug isn't really that heavy. Go to somewhere like Evans and take a few for test rides.
