@Fresh - bring it to easties tonight? Like to try it on for size.
@Danadinho - you're gonna get yourself banned if you carry on like that.

Did anyone notice the short piece about the menace of 'fly by night, brogue wearing brakeless fixed wheel riders' a few pages after the centre spread?
It came complete with its own little poll, just right for whipping up the righteous indignation of the Daily-Fail lite readership...there was also praise for the grace and control of the Sunday polo players...
Come to think of it, it was like a little slice of the forum (without copious cunt references obv.)

Free market FTW. More ads means more choice and fairer pricing. If you want to sell something for more than it's worth, try eBay or gumtree.
The current nursery period rules are enough to prevent obvious scammers registering and posting ads straight away; if we make the hoops to jump through more arduous, we just alienate the new guys. The last thing this place needs is to appear more cliquey.
As far as fencing goes, I don't think it's that easy to do here. The community is pretty vocal about things that seem fishy, and as long as that continues, I think it's fine. It's certainly easier to fence on gumtree and eBay. Possibly the only concession to make is to enforce a price for each item, or at least an ONO price. This way, anyone trying to move on stolen goods will give themselves away if they set too low a price. Furthermore, this has the benefit of giving everyone good visibility as to how much things are worth in general, which may stop people getting burned later down the line.
Sorry for the essay. In summary:
keep classifieds as is
keep nursery period as is
make a rule that you have to list a price (or ONO price) for each item up for sale -
Anyone up for a relaxed 50-odd mile day ride this coming Friday? I am away Sat/Sun, so am unfortunately missing the vintage jersey ride.
Plan would be to roll out late morning to a "country" pub, have lunch and a couple of beers, and roll back into town.
Open to suggestions for routes and pubs; would probably wimp out if it rains too much :)
Also bear in mind that track bars aren't that comfortable to ride on the tops, due to the way they curve forwards.
