Those wheels don't look round to me. I wouldn't trust it.

I've just calculated--there were 36 left at the end, we lost two at Reigate, three at Gatwick, and four went ahead off Ditchling Beacon to catch an earlier train. That means that there were 45 of us on the ride at the start. Forty made it to Brighton.

I've been using BLB straps for about 4 months, no issues with slippage here.

BLB do some double leather straps for either £20 or £25, or 14 have Odge straps for £30 (i think). There are probably cheaper places to shop, mind.

The inspiration for this thread comes from Seeds, who, in clarifying Badtmy's explanation of why a 3/32" chain would not work all too well with a 1/8" cog using the analogy of a labrador humping a jack russell popped out this nugget of joy:

there's a "tool library" thread - search for that

the chain needs to be at least as wide as the cog. 1/8" chain will work with both 1/8" and 3/32" cog. 3/32" chain will only work with 3/32" cog, not 1/8" cog.

on a (relatively) serious note, you can get spoks powdercoated, but not at armourtex, as their heat is too high. i don't know where you can get them done. you'd probably need to ask aerospoke about what the wheel could handle in terms of temperature.

If you do, post up the response here. I have a spok that needs a new paintjob. I bought mine from ASM.
