I can scroll really fast through 50 posted pictures and filter out my own giggles in under 2 minutes.
What really slows me down now and then are the 'what is a funny meme' discussions popping up every five pages.
well a couple of prime suspects should have got the message the first time it was said then.maybe i don't come on as much as others but it looks more like this crops up every 50 pages, not every five. it's the first time i've joined in. if you can handle scrolling through 50 pictures in one post you can handle scrolling through the quality discussion every once in a while.
it's no big deal, but 90 per cent of this thread is now shit. that's because people aren't selective enough. that's it, i'm not having a thrombosis about it and knowing Dan he isn't either.

anybody even slightly interested in the further sayings of foul bachelor frog can find them easily enough for themselves.
yep, and in a way i think the problem is since the thread got started the whole meme thing has gone way more public so there are hundreds of variations now where there used to be just a few. and as a result the hit rate has gone way down as people who aren't as witty are trying to come up with stuff.
This problem though, of quantity vs quality. what about a rule to say you can't post more than one meme per post? that should slow things down a bit.
none of this is stuff to really get bothered about obviously, but there seems to be a good few people who find this thread has gone downhill..

my last thought on the way the thread's gone the last few months, and I understand it's subjective, is that originally memes were cracking us up loads as the variations on the theme actually added something and were compounding and distilling the meme. there was a real wit to them. but the endless 'cartoon strips' with the anger/troll/ok etc. faces are just using the memes for trite observations about life which are neither here nor there. The cartoons could still exist without them and would still be highlighting totally unremarkable stuff. Surely memes exist in and of themselves? there's a small magazine you find in doctors' surgeries called 'Reader's Digest', where there's a section called 'Life's Like That..!'? These endless cartoon strips remind me of that.. not really the calibre i was noticing originally.
anyway, just my 2p.. i'm still on here after waking up from a night out to get my head straight for breakfast and a bike ride so it can't all be bad.....;)

i've been thinking for some time that skully's domestic obligations/scuppered rides are fertile ground for a 70s sitcom.
any time he's said he has to cancel i have a clip from the show in my head. him at the kitchen table peering over his newspaper at what his other half's just announced, brow furrowing in the realisation that another bike ride's off..
