Not much to report save for the arrival of a carbon mech clamp. Its alot lighter than the alloy one I was going to use. A set of 3t Rotundo bars showed up too. A bit of a departure for me as over the last few years I've used only 'ergo ' bars on my bikes. I love the shape of these new ones though just need to see if they suit me.
I've removed the decals from the stem and now the bars too, I am aiming for something really nondescript. I was going to leave the white in the middle but upon reflection its a bit pony. The reason for this new build is I was tired of my old summer bike. It was loud, you know? Like a big advertising board and it was playing havoc with my riding wardrobe, murder avoiding colour clashes. :)
Old bike, see what I mean?

Anyway, on with project in hand. Subtle and classy is what Im after.
The wheels were off another bike. Hope hubs on DRC rims not the blingiest but light and business like. I would have preferred black or that nice gunsmoke colour for the hubs but Im running out of folding.....
Eventually Id love some more de-stickered deep sections with a set of gumwalls. That would be ideal but its a bit far off the now.I've ordered the groupset too. I uumed and aahd for a few days but eventually went for Ultegra. It was that or Rival. I just cannot justify Red or Dura Ace. Ive never been a Campag man. Ive opted for the glossy dark grey, not everyones cup of tea but I like it.
Also, dont know whether to use a conical spacer or the circular ones. Head tube is 145mm, ideally for me it'd be 150mm so I need a stack just trying to work out which is most pleasing to the eye.

Next time it should be ready to go. :)

A new project then, I wish I could have afforded a Moots or an Eriksen but alas not for the likes of me just yet.
This is how it stands today. Ive decided to go for Sram Rival the black will be a nice contrast against the silver. I buffed the decals off the 3t stem. Im unable to get the decals off the seatpin, they're under the lacquer. :( Its proving difficult to find a titanium seatpin in 30.9?
Anyway, I will report back with any updates.

Im in the unfamiliar, not to be repeated anytime soon position of looking for a new groupset.
I had Ultegra SL on my last bike worked fine for years. After reading this thread Im second guessing whether to go for the new 6750 I quite like it, the look of it anyway. Im surprised to hear it doesnt work as well as previous incarnations. I would have hoped it would have evolved.
Looking at Sram now, good bit pricier though. :(

Less of a current project, more complete however I may add a few bits thinking some slicker tyres. Its a toss up between originality and custom I suppose. Im not a purist.
I bought this off Ebay a few weeks ago. It was in good overall condition and I figured a light resto would sort it out.
Its original paint, considering its 28 years old its fared pretty well. I got some Tioga Competition tyres for it as the originals were perished. Some new Shimano DX copies, bars were powder coated. A new set of brake levers some Odi mushrooms, new padset, decals, layback post and a re relased Aeroyal saddle.
A good polish and that's it finished. It makes me smile every time I open the garage. I do get some funny looks when I go to the shops on it though.
It makes me feel like a kid again.
Anyway now that its finished I just wanted to show it off.

I wondered if anyone could give me a bit of advice? I got myself a new compact camera with a WI-FI feature, its a Canon s110. To be honest the wireless connectivity appealed to me more than anything but Im struggling to get it connected to my WI-FI network.
Ive got it to 'see' the network and my pc name but it wont connect. I wondered if anyone had one of these or could suggest where I am gong wrong?
Many thanks in advance,

I bought a set of 3/4$, it'll be no surprise to find they are nice but pricey.
£160 to be exact. I wore them twice riding an Aliante saddle so no embroidery and the stitching around the gusset area was shredded. Granted they replaced them but I was scunnered to receive a free postcard with my replacement, woohoo!
The speed of their postage is shocking too, #over the rapha thing.

If you're feeling more amenable to parting with the cash now, I have one in medium that has never been worn....
Damn you Johnny, and your slight frame. As is my want, instead of a diet of greens and beans and the monk like existence throughout the winter months, I've opted instead (again) for beer and crisps.
This means Im large in all things Rapha, mores the pity. Otherwise Id have had that.

I have no interest in 'Strava' In fact, I care for it not one jot.
Ive never looked at it, I have no clue how it works, and I dont wish to to know.Similarly 'Facebook' never went near it, banal postings of spurious piffle. Internet forums are bad enough without that.
Down with this sort of thing. :)

My uncle owned a Yellow Testarossa with a burgundy interior about 20-odd years ago. Apparently it had been owned by Chris Meek before him and he always specc'd Ferrari's in the same colour scheme. He took me with him to pick it up and as a youngun I'd never been in anything like it. I only last about 20 minutes on the journey home before I had to jump in my aunties car as the heater didn't work and my legs were freezing!
Isn't Chris Meeke about 30 odd, its the rally driver I thinking about.
