When I used to ride geared I never used the back brake, so much so that I removed it in the end, probably not a good idea really in hindsight. Soon after that I went over to SS, then removed the back brake on that too, again not really a good idea. Now i ride fixed so don't have to worry, but then I never go particually quick anyhoo.

I picked a pair of the MTB shoes, they are pretty good for the money. And a wierd track pump for 3 quid, works well though!

i like not having to rely on anyone else. when my bikes are out of action i feel like ive lost my freedom, and walking is terribly slow and boring.

i hate paying for a slow boring journey when i could be out enjoying myself on my bike. if im late i can just ride faster.

i really enjoy riding after work as its a real stress reliever.

i like the fact i can eat endless amounts of food and still be rail thin.

i work in a pub so i can get pissed and still get home quickly.

i dont know about it being cheaper. it probably is, but i still spend a fair amount on my bikes, but it doesnt bother me becuase bikes are my hobby.

And the buses in Cornwall are bloody expensive!

Arent all these mini cabs registered with TFL? Perhaps if someone had reported his antics in the past this may not have happened to you?

Last Novembers ride was superb, cool dry evening with no rain. Check out the vids of it in the Bridges Ride V.

You dont have to do the whole thing, im pretty sure you can leave at any time.

Quite a few dropped out along the way, but its a nice ride and fun to complete it.

Much beer was pissed that night, and 150 riders move pretty slow too.

The last one took about 4 hours to complete, plenty of piss stops and puncture fixing stops too. Its a gentle pace don't worry.

Yeah lets hope the rider is okay.

I ride on the Finchley Rd each morning and most of these trucks/buses/cars just tear between the next traffic jam/red lights. They use the bus lane as an inside overtaking lane, a lot not even bothering to indicate either in or out of the lane. You would think that when they see a slow moving bike keep passing them at the lights they would think ' whats the point in speeding' but the fucktards don't.

I am unfortunately off the bike at the moment due to a pesky leg injury so won't be around.

The one at Camley St was drawing quite a lot of attention this morning from drivers, was standing by it for 5 mins or so. Fantastic photos too!

I love that in Cornwall - where I've been for the last 4 days - it's been like Summer. I don't care that London may well have been getting the same weather - I've been down here thinking about shorts and t-shirts and flip-flops and pretending I can surf and cruising on the bike and barbeques and smiling and...

You can only charge and receive what people feel something is worth. If no one likes or wants an expensive track bike or old lugged frame then its worthless, its all relative.

Should be there tonight for a quick one or two.

If its your ride then change the date, riders will still come.
