He crept quietly out into the road to see a couple of guys breaking into cars and stealing the contents. he waited and watched as they drove off and jumped in his Transit and followed them into town. He watched them drive up to where they lived and go inside. He called the old bill from where he was parked just down the road and explained what he had seen. He gave them the thieves car reg number and thier address. The police said " well its not really worth us coming out sir, you know they will all deny being there, then its your word against thiers" my mate protested and explained about the stolen goods they would have in the house and the probable DNA left on the cars that they broke into. Rozzers still not interested. The moral maybe if you catch someone breaking into your car/ stealing your bike give a good fcking kicking if you get the chance as the old bill will do sweet FA for you.

Thanks asm, yes I meant the larger chain ring on the crankset. Do you think its worth putting in a new BB and bring the chainline in a bit towards the BB shell?

Thanks for all the advice guys. Sorry I made the mistake I should have said its a screw on freewheel, not a freehub, apologies for the confusion. At the risk of causing more arguements could any of you please tell me if redishing is really necessary? I ordered a conversion kit today from Charlie the Bikemonger to convert the bianchi properly. Today I adjusted it to run on just one rear ring and on the smaller front sprocket. I will need new cranks and sprockets I think as the Omega ones on at present have the larger sprocket and spider as one unit and the smaller sprocket attached. Dont really fancy running a 52 tooth ring on the front all the time.

    could you help me please? I have an old 70s Bianchi racer that I would like to convert to singlespeed. I would like to retain as much of the original bike as poss. Can I get a conversion kit that would fit onto the freehub thats on the bike now? At the moment there is a 5 speed one on there but I would like to keep the old 27x11/4 wheel if poss. Also what number tooth rear ring would you recommend? Thanks in advance :-)
